| Mithral Icesilver05-01-04, 01:10 PM | Hi, everybody! I've decided that due to the abundance of lemon curry in the Far Realm (there is a 50% chance of running into a creature related to lemon curry in some way, shape, or form), we need a lemon curry monster. I have also statted up the feat Lemon Curry. Lemon Cr'ry Small Ooze (Extraplanar) HD: 1d10+10 (16 hp) Initiative: +1 (Dex) Speed: Fly 30 ft. (Perfect) AC: 12 (+1 Dex, +1 size), touch 11, flat-footed 11 Attacks: Club +2 melee or sling +2 ranged Damage: Club 1d6+1, sling 1d4 Face/Reach: 5 x 5 ft./5 ft. Special Qualities: Acrophobia, modified ooze traits, telepathy Saves: Fort -1, Ref +1, Will -1 Abilities: Str 10, Dex 12, Con 8, Int 14, Wis 8, Cha 8 Skills: 7 points Feats: Lemon Curry Climate/Terrain: Any land & underground Organization: Solitary, pair, group (3-12), party (2-11 plus 1-10 pseudonatural ravens, hawks, or owls), crowd (12-18 plus 11-17 pseudonatural ravens, hawks, or owls), a lot (20-40 plus 20-40 pseudonatural ravens, hawks, or owls plus 2-4 leaders of 5th-10th level plus 2-4 pseudonatural dire hawks), or a city (50-150 plus 100% noncombatants plus 6-16 council members of 5th-10th level plus 3-8 high council members of 11th-15th level plus 100-300 pseudonatural ravens, hawks, or owls plus 10-30 pseudonatural dire hawks plus 2-6 pseudonatural giant eagles or giant owls plus 1 pseudonatural roc (50% chance)) CR: 1? Treasure: Standard Alignment: Often chaotic good Advancement: 2+ HD (Small) or by character class LA: +0 Before you, a yellowish blob floats about a foot off the ground. It extends a pseudopod shaped roughly like a humanoid hand toward you in greeting. Its other hand holds a simple club, and a sling hangs from a belt around the lower portion of the ooze. As you shake its "hand," a voice says, "Hello." The lemon cr'ry (pronounced "Leh-mon cur-ry") is an ooze from the Far Realm. They live a peaceful existance similar to the Yurians of the Prime, and enjoy befriending birds. They fly with astounding manuverability at the same speed a human walks, but are unable to move on the ground and are hindered as walking creatures are by rough terrain. They have a mild fear of heights. Lemon cr'ries do not speak, but can communicate telepathically. They usually know Blink Dog and Common. Combat: Lemon cr'ries avoid combat when possible, but will attack with clubs or slings when necessary. Unusually for a flying creature, they dislike heights, possibly due to being close to the ground. Acrophobia (ex): Lemon cr'ries are frightened of heights and suffer a -1 morale penalty to attack rolls and Will saves when more than 10 feet above a stable surface. Modified Ooze Traits (ex): A lemon cr'ry has the ooze traits presented in the Monster Manual, with the following alterations: they see the same way as most creatures do and lack the blindsight quality, despite having no visible eyes. Being intelligent, they gain skills and feats as a humanoid and can be affected by mind-affecting effects. Lemon cr'ries have a complex metabolism and rest cycle, so poison and sleep work normally. Telepathy (su): A lemon cr'ry can telepathically communicate with any creature within 100 feet that speaks a language that the lemon cr'ry knows, usually Blink Dog and Common. This also allows them to cast spells with a verbal component. Lemon cr'ries as characters: Lemon cr'ries have the following traits: - Str, Dex, Int +2, Con, Wis, Cha -2: Lemon cr'ries are strong, as well as quick of mind and body, but are frail, slightly nervous, and lacking in common sense. - Small: As small creatures, lemon cr'ries have a +1 size bonus to AC, a +1 size bonus to attack rolls, and a +4 size bonus to hide checks. However, they must use smaller weapons than medium-size creatures use, and their lifting and carrying limits are three-quarters that of medium-size creatures. - Acrophobia (ex): Lemon cr'ries are frightened of heights and suffer a -1 morale penalty to attack rolls and Will saves when more than 10 feet above a stable surface. - Modified Ooze Traits (ex): A lemon cr'ry has the ooze traits presented in the Monster Manual, with the following alterations: they see the same way as most creatures do and lack the blindsight quality, despite having no visible eyes. Being intelligent, they gain skills and feats as a humanoid and can be affected by mind-affecting effects. Lemon cr'ries have a complex metabolism and rest cycle, so poison and sleep work normally. - Telepathy (su): A lemon cr'ry can't speak, but they telepathically communicate with any creature within 100 feet that speaks a language that the lemon cr'ry knows. This also allows them to cast spells with a verbal component. - Automatic Languages: Blink Dog and Common. Bonus Languages: Any. - Favored Class: Any. A multiclass lemon cr'ry's highest level class does not count when determining whether they suffer an experience penalty. - Level Adjustment: +0. Lemon Curry [Trait] You are afraid of heights, but are comfortable close to the ground. Benefit: You recieve a -1 morale penalty to Wisdom when more than 50 feet above the ground. However, when within 5 feet of the ground, you recieve a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls. |

| Shifting Master05-02-04, 01:18 PM | Yeah, Lemon Curry's a running joke...it was first used as a feat (without a description of the feat) in a monster by Read My Glowing Claw-Like Finger (aka R.M.G.C.L.F). Since then, many have tried to describe the feat, but most make too much sense for the Far Realms :D. |
| Mithral Icesilver05-02-04, 03:15 PM | Read My Glowing Claw-Like Finger has been striving to make usable Far Realm creatures. And been successful. This is my second playable race for the Far Realms, the first being the Galgiton (inspired by Reklin Hace's material, Galgit Crystal), a purplish, crystalline race of monstrous humanoids from the Far Realms with a love of animals (though they're lousy druids) and exploration. My creatures tend to have low Wisdom because I kind of think this slightly emulates me. The low Wis is indicative of lacking in common sense, as opposed to actual insanity. |
