A Picture of Tentative MMIII cover art? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I saw this picture (http://www.gamingreport.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=My_eGallery&file=index&do=showpic&gid=105&pid=1047&orderby=dateD) over at GamingReport.com, and thought it'd be good to share with everyone.

I'm guessing that's a tentative cover, since it doesn't exactly match the "monster parts make good book covers" look of the MMI.

personaly I could realy care less what the cover of a book depicts, it is the contents that matter to me.

On the other hand, the picture of Expanded Psionics (http://www.gamingreport.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=My_eGallery&file=index&do=showpic&pid=1048&orderby=dateD) does have the actual cover (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0786933011.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg) as shown at Amazon, so who knows?

Checking out some of the other pictures gives a hint of upcoming releases (http://www.gamingreport.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=My_eGallery&file=index&do=showpic&gid=105&pid=1050&orderby=dateD) for 2004.

03-18-04, 02:28 AM I'm guessing the MM3 cover hasn't been completely sculpted & photographed yet and that is a placeholder. That was definately a drawing instead of a sculpture.

As for the psi-handbook being correct, it gets released later this month, the MM3 isn't due out for another 6 months

After looking at WotC's own 2004 releases page, it seems they haven't released the date or any info about the MM3 themselves. In fact, the only thing mentioned for 09/2004 is the Giants of Legend mini expansion pack.

Also, the psi-handbook is clearly pictured there.

However, the EPH cover looks finished, while the MM3 one don't.

Is this "New to 3.5", "New to Third Edition", "New to D&D", or "New to the world"?

They could just convert the other half of the 2e MM and come up with nearly that many monsters alone.
