| Brennan258712-01-05, 10:50 PM | A player of mine brought this to my attention recently. He was curious as to what the effect would be if someone where to change sub-types (through prestige classes, quests, magic ect). After the change, does the character gain all the abilities described in the Monster Manual (pg 13 I believe)? Take changing to outsider for instance, does the characters HD change to d8, gain the 'good' saving throws, gain skill points of that type, and/or any special qualities/abilities? I told him that the character kept all previous stats and was based off the class that character has. And that the change in subtype only applies to spells (such as 'bane' abilities or 'resurection' penalties to outsiders) Am I correct in this manner or does the character infact gain all the listed stats for that sub-type? |
