Mansquito Large Monstrous Humanoid Hit Dice: 8d8+32 (68) Initiative: +1 Speed: 40ft. (8 squares), fly 60ft. (average) Armor Class: 18 (-1 size, +1 Dex, +8 natural), touch 10, flat-footed 17 Base Attack/Grapple: +8/+17 Attack: Claw +14 melee (1d6+5) Full Attack: 2 Claw +14 melee (1d6+5) and bite +12 melee (1d8+2) Space/Reach: 10ft./10ft. Special Attacks: Blood drain, improved grab Special Qualities: Darkvision 60ft., damage reduction 10/bludgeoning, hivemind, low-light vision, vermin traits, vulnerability to electricity Saves: Fort +6, Ref +6, Will +5 Abilities: Str 20, Dex 13, Con 18, Int 5, Wis 10, Cha 7 Skills: Listen +7, Spot +7, Survival +1 Feats: Alertness, Weapon Focus (claw), Multi-attack Environment: Any Organization: Solitary Treasure: None Challenge Rating: 4 Alignment: Usually neutral Advancement: 9-16 HD (Large); 17-25 HD (Huge) Level Adjustment: - This large humanoid insectoid creature resembles a a mosquito. It has two large claws and a wicked looking mandables with a large needle at the center. It has two insectile wings. The mansquito was created by a freak accident of humans and mosquitos. Any evil wizard that was experimenting to create the perfect sentry created these creatures. They strive for blood, feeding on a nocturnal life cycle. They have a hive mind, which lets them communicate with each other. With their slight intelligence they use simple tactics to suprise their prey. Combat A mansquito does to establish a grapple with a creature and drain them dry. They have a very simplistic way of thinking and do not come up with complex strategies. Blood Drain (Ex): A mansquito can drain a victim's blood with its needle by making a successful grapple check. If it pins its foe, it drains blood, dealing 1d4 points of Constitution damage each round the pin is maintained. On each successful attack mansquito gains 5 temporary hit points. Hive Mind (Ex): All mansquitos within 5 miles are in constant communication. If one is aware of particular danager, they all are. If one in the group is not flat-footed, none of them are. No mansquito in a group is considered flanked unless all of them are flanked. Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a mansquito must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple, it establishes a hold and can use its blood drain ability next round. Vermin Traits (Ex): Even though a mansquito is not a vermin, he is considered one for the purposes of spells or abilities (such as favored enemy, bane, ect.).
malykoth 03-13-05, 09:28 AM	CR 4? I don't know, the "mansquito" tore through about 100 cops like they were paralyzed toddlers. I loved how everyone seemed to think that maybe their gun would have some effect on it, after every other gun failed to even scratch it. Maybe damage reduction/magic? That would explain the immunity to firearms (though I guess damage reduction/bludgeoning would, too). Good thing Parker Lewis was on the case! :rolleyes:

Props, my dear fellow, props be to ye. Hmm, I still remember the catchline to my favorite bad movie off Sci-Fi, Python vs. Boa. "How do you stop a 500-foot snake? Get a bigger snake." The stupidity was agonizingly sweet.

I did bludgeoning because it when he was smacked with the pipe, he recoiled like it actually hurt.
