Zombayz1 01-05-07, 03:10 PM	I was looking through the MM when I noticed something strange: Copper, Bronze and Brass Dragons. Now, to those of you with any knwledge of metalurgy, bronze and brass are alloys of copper and tin or zinc respectivly. Therefore, by my ****ed up thought patterns, there must be Zinc and Tin dragons. Also, there would (in theory) Electrum, Purple, Iron, and numerous other types of chromatic and metalic dragons. Just a strange point, and that's all. Feel free to agree or disagree.
ArchMageQuandolf 01-05-07, 03:15 PM	I tend to believe you are correct, someone somewhere has probably stated these guys out too. Not sure on that but it stands to reason. Purple dragons I think seems close to Deep Dragons from the 2e MM. Since they were colored a deep purple. Tin and Zinc dragons what would their breath weapons be?:)
NerdNumber1 01-05-07, 03:17 PM	True dragon breeds are named after their coloration not how they evolved. Still, dragons can cross-breed but that doesn't mean that the colors will mix. Spots, stripes, and other paterns could hapen.

The following (chromatic or metallic) Dragons have been printed outside the MM, in WotC 3.0/3.5 sourcebooks or Paizo's Dragon Compendium: Brown Dragon (Monsters of Faerūn) Mercury Dragon (Dragons of Faerūn) Steel Dragon (Dragons of Faerūn) Orange Dragon (Paizo Dragon Compendium) Purple Dragon (Paizo Dragon Compendium) Yellow Dragon (Paizo Dragon Compendium) In addition, I'm sure various Dragon Magazines have other variations :)
Whisper_Swiftblade 01-06-07, 12:41 AM	ummm, am I the only one who thinks that they are just named after what they look like they are made of, and that their lives have nothing to do with acctual metal? then again it is strange that all the shiny ones are good, mayube it is somehow related... edit= read nerdnumber1's post and know im not the only one.

In sharp contrast to the "true" metallic dragons, they have varying moral alignments: two are evil (chromium and cobalt), two are neutral (iron and nickel), and only one is good (tungsten).
