| benstundze08-01-06, 12:25 AM | ok so im making a dragon rider class so i get all the rules and they say that the dragon is to powerful so i was wondering if you guys could make a new dragon that is weaker but still has the same age categories so here is the link please help me make this class balanced (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=676619) thx ben |
| Rerecros08-01-06, 12:41 AM | you do know it takes dragons decades to centuries to increase in age category. |
| benstundze08-01-06, 02:08 AM | yes but this class makes them grow faster can you make the monster? please |
| Rerecros08-01-06, 02:13 AM | Just use a wyvern, and add stats like how a paladin does for his mount. |
| benstundze08-01-06, 02:39 PM | whut is wyvern? |
| CryoSilver08-01-06, 02:44 PM | A wyvern is a dragon-falcon sorta thing http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/wyvern.htm There's a link. |

| Wolf7208-01-06, 10:12 PM | or split a wyvern into 12 age categories ... Size-Age HD (HP) Small-Hatchling 1d12-1 (5) Med-Very Young 2d12(13) Med-Young 3d12 (19) Med-Juvenile 4d12 (26) Large-Young Adult 5d12+10 (42) Large-Adult 6d12+12 (51) Large-Mature Adult 7d12+14 (59) *standard wyvern Huge- Old 8d12+32 (84) Huge-Very Old 9d12+36 (94) Huge-Ancient 10d12+40 (105) Gargantuan-Wyrm 11d12+66 (137) Gargantuan- Great Wyrm 12d12+72 (150) bah, spacing is off ... but you get the idea. use the size chart for abilities, ac (and whatever else it shows) feats at 9hd, 12 hd (in my example) are Skill focus Hide (+3 to help counter the size increase) and Improved speed (Draconomicon feat). If you are interested in a word file with this info email me (info in profile) before the end of thursday EST. You can color your wyverns any way you want, to make them a bit different you could give them 4 legs instead of 2 ... remove the stinger for a low powered breath weapon ... etc |
| Wolf7208-01-06, 10:35 PM | I also did a 12-step version of the dragonnel (scrap the draconomicon version it's g@^) based on the original from 1e and The Tome of Horrors by necromancer games (great book, there is an updated 3.5 version too) (made mine a dragon instead of beast) the dragonnnel is more generic than the wyvern too. |
