Now, as for the swarm thing, keep in mind that it is immune to weapon damage, and this is a low level party you're looking at fighting it. Area attacks aren't terribly common at low levels, and if the party's already used their area spells on the first form, they're hosed. This is great actually. Now, as for the slam attack, it's very very weak, and the odds of it getting a good hit in on the warriors is rather low. So, I'd suggest boosting it up a bit, perhaps look at the larger zombies, or give it some cool Psionic flavored bonuses to hit, which would save you the work of adding hit dice, and changing saves and such. |

A 3rd level warrior character will probably have a 17-19 AC (+6 from combined heavy armor, +1 enhancement to armor, maybe +1 or 2 from shield), and a 3rd level character itself will probably have a +6-7 attack bonus (3 from BAB, 2 from strength, +1 masterwork, maybe +1 from weapon focus). So, you're right, +2 to attack is definately too low. The creature has decent defenses, but its offenses are way too low. If I increase their Strength to give them a +5 to hit (18 str), will that make their damage too high (1d6+6), or is that fine for a CR 3 monster? |
