01-27-05, 07:09 PM Ok I'm confused on how you get the DC of extrodinary abilities for creatures, I thought HD played a part but I'm not entirly sure. The below abilities say that the DC are Charisma based and the DC's are set at 15. This is concidering a 1 HD creature with +3 Charisma modifier and +2 racial bonus to this abilities DC.

Now what happens if we are talking a 6 HD creature with +4 Charisma?

Special Arrows (Ex): Pixies sometimes employ arrows that deal no damage but can erase memory or put a creature to sleep.

Memory Loss: An opponent struck by this arrow must succeed on a DC 15 Will save or lose all memory. The save DC is Charisma-based and includes a +2 racial bonus. The subject retains skills, languages, and class abilities but forgets everything else until he or she receives a heal spell or memory restoration with limited wish, wish, or miracle.

Sleep: Any opponent struck by this arrow, regardless of Hit Dice, must succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save or be affected as though by a sleep spell. The save DC is Charisma-based and includes a +2 racial bonus.

01-27-05, 07:28 PM The typical pixie is a 1 HD fey with a +3 bonus from Charisma. Combined with the +2 racial bonus, that gives a result of 15; exactly as the description of the arrows states.

You'll need to explain where you're getting 6 HD and a +4 Charisma bonus from if you're trying to understand pixies with those numbers.

01-27-05, 07:37 PM Because we arn't talking about the example pixie, I'm talking about a modified pixie who has 6 HD and a Charisma modified of +4. Thats why I'm asking.

So, you would need to do 15 - 2 (Racial) - 3 (Charisma) = 10.

Now that you have that, you just need to add:

10 + 2 (Racial) + 4 (Charisma) = 16.

Since HD has absolutely nothing to do with the DC, you can just forget about that part.

Or you could just look at charisma and do 4 - 3 = 1 and add that to 15.

DC: 16
Edit: Crap, HD is important :/

01-27-05, 08:09 PM an advanced (by HD) 6 HD pixie with a charisma of 18-19 would have a DC of 19 (10+1/2HD+Ability Modifier+any racial/feat modifiers or in this case 10+3+4+2=19).
