Can someone tell me what the ability modifiers for the Sylph from Monster Manual 2 are? Or tell me where I can find them? Thanks.

See Monster Manual pg. 6-7 for deducing ablity modifier rules. Applying these to the sylph, you get: Str -2, Dex +2, Con -2, Int +4, Wis +6, Cha +6.

Its Level Adjustment is +5. By the way, you shouldn't let a PC sylph advance by creature HD though (only by standard class level), since this would increase the effective sorcerer level while granting outsider, BAB, saves, and skill points.

I don't think it matters where the hit dice come from, as it doesn't state that it does in the description of the sylph.

Agreed. If a monster states that it casts as spellcasterX rather than a spellcaster of HDX, than its spellcasting ability usually will not scale with HD. Examples include coautl.
