Because the char gains 8 new abilities: - Increased HD - Increased Dmg - Natural Armor +5 - 3 Sp and Su Abilities - 2 feats Let me know what do you think about this template! :D cya! |
| (Psi)SeveredHead12-08-04, 09:29 PM | Yeah, not too balanced. I've abused that one as a DM before; any template with choice involved and boosts your Con by +10 has to draw my attention. Even with an accurate CR adjustment, it's still way cooler than the half-dragon. (I also ignore the numbers restriction. My campaign can have a dozen legendary krakens if I feel like it.) |

| Engilbrand12-09-04, 12:35 PM | If you look at different things, CR doesn't usually increase by a whole lot. The vampire template is CR+2. It's a +8 LA, though, for a PC. Legendary is a CR+2. It's a +7 LA for PCs. That's from the 3.5 conversion guide in the downloads section. There aren't many things that really increase the CR by a whole lot other than class levels. Keep in mind, these templates don't give Hit dice and, though it wasn't specified in the Monster Manual, templates based on hit dice only affect Racial hit dice. It's possible that, with a higher CR and no extra hit dice, a higher level party would easily slaughter it because it doesn't have enough hit points. That's why it's only a CR of +2. |
