advancing a nymph as a spellcaster? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I'm trying to create a nymph npc for an adventure of mine and i want it to be a better spellcaster then a regular nymph, so i was wondering if i advanced it as usual as fey would it get better spellcasting? or if i gave it druid as a character class could i start at lvl 8(considering it can cast spells as a 7th lvl druid already)? or would it have to start as a lvl 1 druid and get double spellcasting?

05-25-07, 02:24 PM When the description of the creature explicitly says, that it cast spells like a character class, then these levels stack with those of actual class levels.
Works like the "+1 on caster level and spells per day" many prestige-classes grant, only that it is +7 and even works when the creature has no level in the class.

05-26-07, 01:52 AM Just to clarify that, if you took one level in druid, you would have the spellcasting abilities of an 8th-level druid, but the special abilities of a 1st-level druid (plus those of the nymph, of course).
