Hi

I'm trying to create a nymph npc for an adventure of mine and i want it to be a better spellcaster then a regular nymph, so i was wondering if i advanced it as usual as fey would it get better spellcasting? or if i gave it druid as a character class could i start at lvl 8(considering it can cast spells as a 7th lvl druid already)? or would it have to start as a lvl 1 druid and get double spellcasting?

When the description of the creature explicitly says, that it cast spells like a character class, then these levels stack with those of actual class levels.
Works like the "+1 on caster level and spells per day" many prestige-classes grant, only that it is +7 and even works when the creature has no level in the class.

Just to clarify that, if you took one level in druid, you would have the spellcasting abilities of an 8th-level druid, but the special abilities of a 1st-level druid (plus those of the nymph, of course).
