05-09-07, 03:47 PM So I am running this game on Sunday, and I may be using a Planetar. 14 HD and 17th level Cleric spellcasting. My question is this. If I were to progress him in say a full spellcasting PrC would his Cleric caster level also go up? Say 6 levels of it...would he be an Epic Level Spellcaster at 23?

05-09-07, 03:59 PM If you decide to run it that way, you should increase his CR by one point per hit die of advancement, rather than the given progression.

05-09-07, 04:14 PM It is considered to have 17 levels of cleric regarding to spellcasting. So if you give it 2 levels of cleric, it casts spells as a level 19 cleric. Powerfull as it is, it should qualify for most prestige-classes without any actual levels of cleric.

05-09-07, 10:46 PM Its spellcasting will improve if you add extra lvs of cleric(recommended for the 2 extra domains and turn undead) or a spellcasting prc.

It will not improve if you simply added extra racial HD.
IIRC, there are only 2 monsters I am aware of whose spellcasting improves with racial HD advancement(spellweaver and sylph).:)
