Can a natural lycanthrope contract the affliction of another lycanthrope (wererat bitten by weretiger and turns into a weretiger/wererat)?

As far as I know....no.
Its something to do with anyone with the shapechanger subtype can't be affected by lycanthropy or something.

There is nothing in the description of shapechanger that would indicate that they can't become inflicted.

However, in 3.0, shapechanger was not a subtype, but a regular type like humanoid, and lycanthropy could only affect humanoids & giants. So in 3.0 it was impossible for a lycan to acquire another form of the disease.

I believe that this is the spirit & intent of how lycanthropy is suppose to work in both versions. I'm sure there is some rule somewhere that states it as such. Perhaps the template pyramid from Savage Species takes this into account. If not, then it is just one of those things that slipped through the cracks in the conversion from 3.0 to 3.5.

From a purely logical standpoint, I just can't see a dual-natured lycan - afflicted or natural. The two diseases would both be vying for supremecy, trying to kill off the other. The creature would never know which animal it truely was, and would be a completely insane wild beast, constantly turning between forms; maybe even becoming a hybrid human/dual animal that has no real viable motor skills - just a pile of fur that is in constant pain that eventually dies of starvation.
