Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could make up some statistics for the aliens in the movies Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection and Alien vs. Predator. I'm really not too good at making monsters so could someone help me out? I'd like at least the drone aliens, alien queen and face huggers, but would appreciate any additional statistics for predaliens and the like. Thanks

I <3 xenomorphs.

These two websites, while having nothing to do with RPGing, are good resources.

and even more so

But, in response to your direct question...

It's all right here.

All of it. Everything you'd want.
It is d20 Modern, though, not straight-up D&D, but for this it doesn't mean much.

Well, if you want something more D&Dish, you might want to buy the Book of Vile Darkness, there is a race of monsters in it called the Kython that are very alienesque. Not exactly so, but that is probably good thing what with copyright laws and all.

That said.. this d20 supplement was obviously crafted by someone who REALLY knows Aliens. The timeline alone gives me some faith in that, though the cruncy parts of it may be a little sketchy.

Thank you both, this will really help me in my campaign. You don’t happen to know if there are any statistics for Predators too would you? Converting the Astral Stalker from MMIII wouldn’t be hard though if you don’t, Thanks again

The Yautja

The Yautja are an extraterrestrial tribal species from the other side of the galaxy. They are renowned for their warlike skills and honor. They have existed long before the dawn of man.

They often afford the onlooker the merest glimpse of “shimmering air” across the rooftops or through thickly wooded forests. The sight is nervertheless unforgettable – however one survives to remember.

Every so often, an Yautja will arrive at a planet with intelligent game and hunt them for trophies.

Yautja, known as "Predators" in the vernacular, are humanoid; they are bipedal, have two legs and arms, one head, two eyes, and ears. While the Yautja's body may be humanoid in appearance, this cannot be said for its face. Having been described as having a face like a "mutated crab", the Yautja possess a very distinct look. The most prominent feature of this look are four mandibles which protrude from and surround a smallish mouth filled with sharp teeth. These mandibles are used for communicating much like a cat uses its tail to communicate its mood.

A Yautja's skin has a remarkable color because some parts are more greenish and other parts are more with brown. When a Yautja gets older, its hair and skin color changes. Skin color is generally a pasty yellow mottled with black spots.

On their head, the Yautja have course bristly "hair" which is twisted into dreadlocks. One rite of adulthood is the ceremonial braiding of a warriors hair into the "dreadlocks" style worn by the warriors. This process, usually taking months of ritual and scalp pain is performed in public. At the slightest show of pain or discomfort on the part of the young warrior, the entire process is started over again.

Yautja appear to value other predatory species as the most challenging targets. This would also explain their preference for hunting humans, another highly successful Yautja species. The Yautja are very fond of trophies, skulls being the most sought after. The Yautja warrior's behavior is controlled by a code of ethics.

As a rite of passage into adulthood, each male Yautja must hunt and kill his first kainde amedha, or "hard meat". These hard meats are commonly known to humans as Aliens. Apparently the Yautja and aliens have a connected evolution and the Yautja consider them to be the ultimate prey.

The rite of passage hunts are generally conducted on uninhabited planets. Before a hunt begins, the Yautja "seed" the hunting grounds with Alien eggs, which are obtained from a captive queen. Once the eggs hatch and the Alien brood mature, a group of unblooded warriors land on the planet, supervised by two or three veteran warriors. Equipped only with hand-to-hand weaponry and armor, the young Yautja is sent out. Those who survive and claim a kill are then inducted into their clan as fully blooded warriors. Knowing the danger presented by the Aliens to the local ecosystem, the Yautja will not leave a planet until every alien is killed. However, it is believed that Alien infestations in the galaxy may be caused by the Yautja failing to account for every released Alien.

As a side note, it is considered a great honor by the Yautja to participate in the hunts that obtain the Alien queen from which they obtain their supply of eggs. To obtain a live queen, the Yautja hunting party must venture into an Alien crèche, succeed in defeating all the queen's warrior drones, and then subdue the queen herself. Needless to say, many of these parties never return. To understand the respect Yautja hold for the lethality of the aliens, in at least one instance, the Yautja have accepted a human into their hunting clan who has successfully slain an alien in single hand-to-hand combat.

Yautja society is based on the concept of The Hunt. Whereas humans on earth were agrarian, the Yautja never settled down. Their culture revolves around the concept of hunting and stalking prey. Very similar to a pack mentality, the strongest and most efficient member of the group is the leader. This alpha male controls the actions of the group. So far, only males seem to participate in hunts.

Since females rule over their territory and generally run internal affairs, Yautja have a matriarchal
society. Rarely is it ever needed to be enforced however, males do not involve themselves with
female politics and females are uninterested in male socialization.

Yautja Characters

Yautja characters posses the following traits:
- +6 Strengh, +2 Dexterity, +6 Constitution.
- -10 on all Charisma based skills when dealing with non-Yautja races, except Intimidation.
- An Yautja base speed is 30 feet.
- Medium sized.
- Minimum and maximum jump distance is three times higher than normal.
- Falling damage only above 30 feet.
- Fortitude DC to resist hot/cold weather effects is reduced by 10.
- Must breath methane or other hydrocarbon gas or start suffocation. The Yautja can survive a number of days equal to his Constitution bonus.
- No Wealth: Yautja have no concept of wealth. Their superior technology is earned, not bought. Roll a D20 + HD + Charisma modifier + Reputation (if any). This combined number determines what an Yautja can earn in equipment.
- Automatic Languages: Yautja, Sign Language.
- They can learn to speak dwarven and orcish. However, as their vocal structure is able to emmit only gutural sounds, they can not speak other languages, although they can pronounce some words.
- Racial HD: The Yautja starts with 2 Hit Dices, wich grants him with one feat, +1 on Base Attack, +3 on Fortitude Saves and 5 skill points + Int (x 2).
- The Yautja have Climb, Hide and Move Silently as racial skills.
- Favored Class: Fighter

You talk about earning superior technology, do you have a list?

You could use the Grendelspawn (D20 Modern Urban Arcana SRD) and maybe the extraterrestrial template from D20 Future.

The Aliens movies are supderb (expect AVP, which was sheeot). On to the helping part, my friend.

Well, a few additional facts then. The predators are usually either Lawful Evil or Lawful Neutral in alignment, with any chaotic or good tendencies exceedingly rare.

They love to take parts of their vanquished prey as trophies usable as weapons and armor.

For armor: The carapice of xenomorph aliens they hunt are likely as strong as finely forged steel. The severed head of a xenomorph drone would functionally act like a metal small shield with acid resistance 10 (strong evidence that aliens are resistant to tehir own acid). The severed acid globules of the alien can be carried and used by the predator several times as by the original alien, until they run out. The severed head of a xenomorph queen is probably tougher than that of the drones so it can be treated as a masterwork large or tower metal shield with acid resistance 20. The technological masterpiece that is the Predator warrior's armor can be treated as +4 adamantine armor with acid resistance 20 that can activate the invisibility spell at will and as a last resort detonate at the effect of a CL 14 Fireball spell. The armor is, of course, completely nonmagical.

For Weapons: The warriors of the race use three main weapons: Wrist blades, a returning disk, and a powerful energy cannon.

Wrist Blades: 2d4 damage slashing type, 18-20 critical range, 2 lb.

Returning Disks: Treated as +2 shurikens with the returning weapon feature as stated in the DMG. However, these weapons would of course be nonmagical.

Energy Cannons: Usually shoulder mounted and usable in addition to weapons held in the hands, they are 11 lbs. each, have a range increment of 120 ft., and have a blast radius of 20 ft. for 4d6 damage of no type. They are of paramount value to the predators and don't seem to need recharging.

Sound great? Alternately, you could just ignore everything we tell you in this thread and simply go to http://members.toast.net/talien/michael/freebies/indexaliens.html

If by the cannon you mean the one available originally in the temple weapons hold, that cuts through the Xenomorphs like butter, I imagine it would be a something of a +5 repeating crossbow of Xenomorph Bane with Wounding etc.

The only personal gripe with that particuler D20 modern addon is that I seriously dislike D20 modern, especially if it's futuresque or scifi in general. It'd be pointless to incorporate Aliens into D&D (obviously), but uit'd be coolest anyway if you played as a group of scared, vulnerable humans in the midst of a raging AvP hunt, just like in the Aliens Vs. Predator movie, except it won't suck. I wouldn't be able to guarantee you won't have total party killoff, though.
Ged Coldplain

actually its a longarm, dealing 2d12 fire damage with a range inscriment of 120ft. (from predator; Cazador de Trofeos)

if making tech items i prefer to make up someting new instead of just calling it a magic crossbow... that makes it so... plain, and removes some of the "magic" or flavor if you like.

I've been trying to get my head around the three red dots they use to target.

3 dots would probably indicate a triangulation for the target, but a weapon such as the cannon would only really need 2 points, they being altitude (Y axis) and direction (X axis), whilst 3 points would indicate the Z axis, a point in space. This means that either 3 dots is either an important religious marker, or the cannon can adjust it's own distance to help against the target.

Since the Yautja are primarily a predatory martiarchal clan system, I find it hard to believe that they would invest so much religious belief into their weapons system, regardless of it's placement elsewhere.

So, that said, what about the range on the cannons as a result? Perhaps it has extra damage the closer the target is?

3 red dots: Redundancy. A sniper with a laser scope can shoot pretty accurately, but what if his laser is slightly off from getting jostled around? Moreover, most laser-based automated systems need multiple lasers to ensure accuracy. Three is probably very efficient for 100% accuracy.

Religious Significance: Young adults are not allowed to have shoulder-cannons unless they EARN them. Much as you might give a boy a hunting knife or bb gun before a high-powered sports rifle, there are steps before something so powerful is placed in their hands.

Range: I haven't seen them used at extreme range off-hand, so 80-120' increments sounds about right. They seem to be plasma weapons, so any effective loss of energy isn't going to make much difference between 0' and 400'. I'd say give them brutal damage at all ranges. Enough to splatter a drone-xenomorph in one hit 75% of the time would be a good estimate. So figure out how much your aliens are going to have for HP, then scale damage appropriately.

Alternatively, you could have various types of shoulder cannons:

Type 1: 2d6, 60' range increment. 'Sport'
Type 2: 5d6, 60' range increment. 'Hard meat sport'
Type 3: 3d6 x 2, 80' range increment. 'Double shoulder action' (requires two attack rolls)

But that is just random blather ;)
