This is the second new monster in a new campaign setting I am working on. Check out the Compitum Thread in my Sig to find out.

As this conflict reached its peak in 3248, a new factor was entered into the mix. The Aliovores arrived. The creatures were insectoid in nature, with a shimmering light to them making them to appear to only exist half in Compitum and half some other plane. In strange spurts of magic, the Aliovores could ignore the rules of space and teleport, change their natural form, or even attack opponents completely out of their reach. These monsters were completely unmentioned in the texts carried with the humans, unlike the Deus Arbitrium. Strangely, though, humans could immediately look upon an Aliovore, know what it was, and know that death was emminent. The Aliovores began hunting and feasting on the humans, seeming to absorb some aspect from their prey and growing stronger. The creatures showed the most active violence toward humans, but were known to attack other creatures at times without provocation.

-From the "Brief History of Copmitum"

These odd creatures are even more mysterious than the Deus Arbitrium. Their unique nature makes them incredibly difficult foes; no one can be sure where an Aliovore will appear next, or even in what way an Aliovore may attack them.

Large Abberation (Shapechanger)
Hit Dice: 12d8+80 (114HP)
Speed: 60 feet.
Initiative: +10
Armor Class: 23 (+6 dexterity, +8 natural armor, -1 size)
Attack: +20 scythe (2d8+8 crit 19-20 x2)
Full attack: +20/+20/+15/+15 scythe, +15 bite (1d10+4 crit 20 x2)
Grapple: +25
Face/Reach: 10/10
Saves: Fort 14 Ref 14 Will 8
Special Attacks: The Aliovore's unique nature gives it the following abilities in combat:
Reach(Su): An Aliovore can reach out through space and snag an opponent that it sees. 4/day, whenever an Aliovore spots a target, he can sacrifice one of his attacks and send it at an opponent in line of sight within 40 feet. That attack is made as normal, as if the Aliovore were occupying the square infront of the target.
Absorb(Ex): Whenever an Aliovore successfuly bites a human, he can make a grapple check (usual modifiers apply). If that check succeeds, the Aliovore must maintain that grapple for another 1d4+3 rounds. At the end of those rounds, the Aliovore absorbs the human in the grapple, and that human immediately dies. Humans absorbed cannot be resurrected.
Special Qualities: Because of their strange state of existance in Compitum, they have resistance to the elements. This gives them elemental resistances 15. Aliovores seem to ignore the rules of natural physics, represented by the following spells used as spell-like abilities. The caster level for each is equal to the Aliovore's hit die (in this case 13).
Dimension Door 6/day, Ethereal Jaunt 4/day, Polymorph (self only) 3/day, Teleport 2/day, Timewalk 2/day
stats:
STR 26
Con 22
Dex 22
Int 10
Wis 10
Cha 10

Skills: Spot +13, Listen +13
Feats: Improved Initiative, Rend
Organization: one or in a pod (5-20 Aliovores)
Challeng Rating: 13
Advancement: by racial hit die with perfect saves and BAB. For every 10 hit die, they gain 10 elemental resistance. For some unkown reason, Aliovores only gain experience when they slay and then absorb humans, but they can gain sustanance by feeding on other creatures.
Level Adjustmen: +7

Nice interesting creature you have here! Your setting is really shaping up to be something cool!

I really like the Reach ability. Nice surprise in store for a party. The Absorb seems pretty rough, along with their spell-like abilities. Might wanna raise their CR a bit...

Thanks for the input

oh and also absorb is supposed to be pretty rough; it was based of a story element and not originally intended to be a mechanic. It only works against humans, and its the only way aliovores can gain experience, though. I agree these guys are super tough tho...i'm just having trouble choosing a good CR. I think lvl 11 non-humans would do pretty decently against a monster like this, but humans would definately get their butts kicked :P

Im using these guys in my current campaign and I like them a lot but as a house rule if you defeat the Aliovore within a week of the humans absorbtion than he/she can be ressurected. Through wish or true ressurection only.

BTW I really like all your stuff.
