Loki_Simkin 02-05-07, 05:51 PM	As I see it, each mephit is based off an existing (small version) elemental. So are there any source books that provide more than the basic ones in MM 1 or the sands book? Specifically I was looking at a mephit based off the shadow elemental, or a paraelemental. If there aren't examples of either, how would you go about making a balanced one? I tried making one for shadow, it ended up being incorporeal with the ice mephits breath weapon, darkness 1/hour, and shadow bind 1/day. Fast healing 2 when in shadowy illumination or darkness. I made it a familiar (per improved familiar feat) and traded the alertness feature for the interact with corporeal (as unseen servant) as the Child of Night prestige class from ToM
