Just curious, is there an Acid Elemental written in one of the books? If so, where is it?

And on this same note, would there then be elementals like a Sand elemental, or even a Glass Elemental?

I am just wondering if I need to create these myself ir if there is something already in a book somehwere that I dont have.

Thanks, CC

Not that i know of but hey you could ignore the template rule about what template applys to what, as i do, and use the acid born (i think its called) from dungeonscape

There's a Glass Mephit (lives on the Elemental Plane of Earth). There's no Acid or Sand Elemental, by that name, but some of the elementals found on the Elemental Plane of Earth could likely be named Sand Elementals.

MotP has an Ooze paraelemental, which is pretty much acid.

Nope. Neither "sand" nor "glass" are considered classic Elements (fire, earth, water, air), nor do they qualify as Para-elements (a mix of two classic elements) or Quasi-elements. (the positive or negative energy aspects of the classic elements)

Sand is 'earth', so a Sand Elemental would simply be an Earth Elemental with minor tweaks. (lower Constitution and higher Dexterity, maybe a faster movement speed)

Glass is not the sort of thing you'd see in large enough quantities and pieces to make an Elemental out of, though I could see a Glass Golem. If you're talking about volcanic glass, again, that's just an Earth Elemental that might be tweaked slightly (Add Improved Critical to it's Slam attacks, remove something else)

Sandstorm has a creature called a "Dust Twister" that's an Elemental of moving wind & sand. It also has a Glass Mephit, and a Sand Golem.

If you go to Planewalker.com's download page, in the codex denizens section (http://www.planewalker.com/codex/download.php) you'll find the Denizens of the Inner Planes pdf for download. It's basically a whole bunch of 2e elemental creatures that have been converted to 3.5. It doesn't have exactly what you're looking for, but you might find something you like in it.

Thanks for the answers. That helps and now I can just tweak the earth elemental on both counts and take a closer look at that Ooze para-elemental.

Thanks for the input. It is appreciated.

I do have Dungeonscape, which actually made me begin this search for an acid elemental. Perhaps an acidborn Water elemental? I will look at that a little closer...

The glass and sand elementals would be mineral and silt quasi-elementals.
:weep: to bad they haven't been stated yet.

The glass elemental would be the sand elemental after he gets hit by the fireball spell.

Just as a follow up question as I put together a glass elemental variant,

Would it be appropriate to give a glass elemental a spell reflection power rather than any spell immunities?

It seems like common sense, but just a thought.

And I love your fireball comment Tenedros. I figure in the creation process that the wizard must have a 3rd lvl fire descriptor spell for the creation of this beast... :D

a glass elemental wouldn't be lusterous enough to have a reflective surface, if it has the right clarity however some spells might pass through it.
