I think it would just gain levels, but mabey there is a PrC that alows vampires to gain things possesed by their victims (kinda' like the one for ilithids in SS)

Ask around the Ravenloft boards.
Vampires in that get funky salient abilities as they age.

Other than that, I haven't encountered anything.

There's the Vampire Lord template from Monster Mayhem
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/mm/mm20021018a (hopefully WotC will update it to 3.5 one day.)

And there are rules to boost vampires according to their age in the 3e Ravenloft Campaign setting book.

Both the Vampire Lord and the Werewolf Lord are in the 3.5 MM

The Vampire Lord is basically a normal vampire with more levels, I don't have my book right now, but I believe it also has the Fiendish template on it.

Actually, the vampire lord on the website has the normal vampire abilities enhanced, new ones like weather control and telepathy added, and most of the weaknesses removed.

The "Elite" Vampire is in the MM3.5, The vampire lord is a template you stick over a vampire.
