I was wondering if it is possible for a rogue to use the disable device skill to disable a construct that is unable to stop him

ie: jam joints, disrupt appendage, cut wires, etc

Probably not, remember most constructs are magic/elemental driven, not robots, so any damage would either be real Hp damage or so ineffective the construct can undo it, I.E. A stone golem could just smash most things used to jam its arms, by moving its arms or similar.

Constructs are non-living creatures. You can only disable machines. Never forget that in DnD, a monster is what it is, and nothing more.

However, I believe there is an exception. Automatons are clockwork. A rogue could possibly ruin some gears in one of them. As for golems, it's impossible.
