| The Gray10-09-03, 04:03 PM | Yeah, we all remember the flumph, demons, modrons, hippocampi, and brownies, but what new 3/3.5 monsters do you think we'll remember when we're old and playing 5th Edition (gah! hope not), thinking "Man, those kaorti, they were so cool . . ." The Far Realms seem to be the new promising place for RPGs, and the various monsters and creatures that come out of there seem to be pretty memorable. A lot of people are into maugs, too, and I suspect come 4E they'll be a pretty sought-after conversion over the net. SO, kids, what monsters have you seen lately that are just so much fun to encorporate into your games you'll want to see 'em converted and played for a long, long while? |
| MightyMightyThundarr10-09-03, 04:24 PM | Uvuudaums. Definitely uvuudaums. |
| Nived10-09-03, 04:29 PM | Chuul... It gained a special place in my heart when I was DMing and the party was camping in a swamp and one took out half the party whom were all at least 2 levels above it's CR rating. |

The chuul was in a cave, below a pit, so to see what there was in the pit, we dropped a sack which contained phosphorescent shrooms we plucked on the way -- this was our way of saving torchs for later -- and we saw a bit of the room, but the chuul came and ate the sack. When we finally went through the pit, our bard tried bardic music to entrance it... And succeeded! We all moved carefully, slowly, without making any brutal move, and crossed the chuul's cave to its exit while the beast was mesmerized. |

| Tenzhi10-10-03, 02:58 AM | I haven't been impressed by many 3E monsters thus far. Some of the templates are cool, though. |
| Asta Kask10-10-03, 05:15 AM | The Atropal from Epic Handbook. Gotta live an undead, divine foetus. |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht10-12-03, 11:00 AM | I forgot the Wendigo. |
| E-Arkham10-12-03, 11:57 AM | If templates count, Worm-That-Walks all the way. Otherwise, I'll second the Atropal. Kep |
| was_fired10-12-03, 03:09 PM | Prismic Dragon, most powerful beast in the ELH and it's pink. Then I have to say the choker but I have a feeling that has been around for a while. There was no better creature in 3.0 to prove haste was overpowered than a choaker cleric. Now there is now better creature to prove shapechange is overpowered than the choaker. Also the 3.0 shocker lizard which was going to be a great PC with an ECL of 4 to 5. Then 3.5 had to make them to stupid to play. There greatest saving grace was the fact they are labled as small and described as the size of a very small dog and shown being dwarfed by mushrooms. I never realised halflings were so tiny. |

| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht10-12-03, 11:38 PM | I can't believe I forgot the Euphoric Imp! I just love the expression. It looks stoned. |
| Simeon38X10-13-03, 01:14 PM | Did Ethereal Filchers exist before 3rd edition?. They will be remembered by me, the greatest monsters in the world!... http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/hasaki/flincher.gif |
