| dengarbountyhunter01-01-07, 10:25 AM | First, I wanna know what you think of my stats for the llama (it's for a caste of llama-riding ascetic knights (monk/paladin)): LLAMA Medium animal Hit Dice: 2d8+2 (11 hp) Initiative: +1 Speed: 50 ft. (10 squares) Armor Class: 13 (+1 Dex, +2 natural), touch 11, flat-footed 12 Base Attack/Grapple: +1/+1 Attack: Bite +1 melee (1d3) or spit (+2 ranged touch, special) Full Attack: Bite +1 melee (1d3) or spit (+2 ranged touch, special) Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft. Special Attacks: Spit Special Qualities: Low-light vision, scent Saves: Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +0 Abilities: Str 10, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 2, Wis 11, Cha 4 Skills: Balance +5, Listen +3, Spot +2 Feats: Endurance Environment: Temperate mountains Organization: Solitary, pair Challenge Rating: 1/6 Alignment: Always true neutral These awkward mammals have a large belly perched on four long legs and a vertical neck supporting a triangular head with furry ears. They have long, wooly hair ranging in color between beige-white and deep brown. Despite their strange look and stubborness, they are surefooted, sturdy and loyal mounts when domesticated. Carrying Capacity: A light load for a llama is up to 50 pounds; a medium load, 51–100 pounds; and a heavy load, 101–150 pounds. A llama can drag 750 pounds. COMBAT A llama bites only when it has no way to escape. It prefers to flee or to spit on its opponents face. Spit (Ex): When frustrated, llamas show their teeth and spit saliva. Treat this as a ranged touch attack with a range of 5 feet that doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity like other ranged attacks. If the attack touches, the creature is dazzled for 1 round, which the llama often uses to flee. Creatures without eyes cannot be affected by this attack. Skills: Llamas have a +4 racial bonus on Balance checks. Second, are there stats for the ostrich and/or the emu anywhere (please don't refer me to a nonofficial animal-related splatbook, I don't have 30 bucks to spare for this)? In any of these "there are not enough animals in the MM" threads, maybe? Or someone has done them himself? |

This is part of the reason that the Spanish had such an advantage, although the horses they brought broke their hooves on the stone roads. Anyway, I agree with the medium size, but to use it for a sect of people ment to ride it doesn't work very well. Because of this, I'd suggest your aesthetics are small creatures. Llammas should have a speed of 40 feet... just so that they're not as fast as horses. |

I work out and do martial arts but your llama's wouldn't be able to carry me effectively (230 lbs) you need to adjust your weight ratio's to accomodate the fact that if they're bred as mounts they would be able to carry a heavier load |
