Another dragon template! [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-10-07, 11:51 PM OK I don't have allot of time tonight but here is what I'm looking for. I posted here because it is for a boss Monster.

I looking to make one that drains magic and feeds off it. It is for dragons only. Diet dependent undead template is what i want. It heals it's self by feed on magic and absorbs spells. I was thinking some kind of draining aura that like anti magic but drains instead. I'll post my Ideas tomorrow but would any hints and tips and when I finish it some help on CR and LA. This creature would be made from Failing a save against massive damage from a spell or death effect spells. Any help would be nice, Thanks!

Name is lich wyrm. Doesn't have to be spell caster.

Ok a little info for our world.

Campaign Info

There is a magical disease in the world that affect dragons before they hatch. What this does is drain the dragon of all it's magical Qualities. These dragons are called rogue dragon. When playing them they have no breath weapon, Spell/spell like abilities, and any thing that runs off magical. It still keep any immunities it has plus things like water breathing.

1/3rd of the egg that are layed start getting a crescent moon pattern on the egg half way threw incubation. These are called royal dragon and are immune to the disease and follow reg dragon leveling.

Rogue dragons can substitute class levels for their HD. They still gain good saves and skills but gain the rest of the benefits of the class and also gain age cats by class levels.

Planer dragons are immune to the magical disease and all the eggs have the pattern. Gem dragon never have the pattern and but seem to be immune too.

Nothing so far has helped with this magical disease, even wish spell. Healers think this is because the magical disease absorbs magic.

Here is how rogue dragons are made. What happen is when they get hit by the blast it awakens the disease and turns him into a undead creature that feeds of magic energy. I would use spell thing on yours but change it to Magic drain and scale the range based on Age Cat save DC 10 plus half HD plus cha. Any thing that doesn't work in a anti magic field is drained including abilities. Any thing drained cause the creature to act as if hasted caster level Half the dragon HD. Lasting as long as he drains ability at least once a round.

Any spells cast on it heals it him 5 points per spell level. Since he feeds of the magic energy it it lost forever when it come to abilities and items if they stay in the area for more then 20 rounds minus one round per age cat of dragon.

thats all I have for now.

These abilities count as anti magic abilities rules wise.
