in dungeonscape is a poison called: shrieking terror saliva.
the damage done by injury that introduce the poison can't be heald magically or naturally.

so if...
you are able to trap the tarrasque into a pit (or something). you use weapons that do great damage (ballista:D) and cover the tips with the poison. you start shooting at the tarrasque. Does the regeneration of the tarrasque has an effect on the poison?

if so...
finally the hp of the tarrasque is brought to zero (and below). does it stay dead (because he can't heal itself) or what happens?

if so...
you have a nice new idea on how to kill the tarrasque.

Other than an outright immunity to poison AND ability damage? If this, the 15/epic DR and the fact - a tarrasque does not heal itself - NOTHING can lethally hurt it... don't apply then, sure its a keeper of an idea.

Just the pit is a really good idea, although it would have to be a huge pit. Plus, if they are already in the pit, do you really have to kill them. Just bury them with very heavy rocks. When they are stuck underground, they are as good as dead. I wish I thought of that one.

By the RAW, no. Dropping the tarrasque to -10 hp somehow will not kill it.

Thats the point, you don't really have to kill it. You just need to keep it below -10 hp. Any form of continual damage will do it. Its just that after a while, there will be an earthquake or something, and it will be brought back to the surface, where it will heal. Unless your DM is a total jerk, or is bringing in one mad as :censored: sorcerer who revives the tarrasque, you should be fine for a few thousand years.

And what sort of continual damage are you advocating that is assured of at least 40 damage/round?

Alternatively, just drain its wis to 0 with an allip and leave it there.:D

Continual Damage. Put it in a magma lake, surrounded by fire elementals which try to kill it, while arrowhawks and gold dragons fly over it using electricity beams and breath weapons.

Tarrasque is immune to fire, IIRC.

That was just a general idea. You could use any element and do the same thing. Or you could just stick it in a giant lake, freeze the entire lake so it takes immense amounts of cold damage every turn, and put the lake somewhere very cold. Then you could surround it with winter wolves, and other ice monsters.

In one of my campaigns the world was on the back of a giant turtle. . . and the tarrasque was held in check by being placed in the turtle's stomach acid. The turtle was divine, so it wasn't exactly acid damage.

The tarrasque was held in a crystal container at the bottom of a very large well. The BBEG just took the crystal off of it's pedastal and it started regenerating again.

But then the tarrasque was actually a mixture of the tarrasque, an aboleth, several dragons (red, blue, green, yellow), a goat, and a chameleon. I called it the Dysrynex.

And there was a city full of sun-worshipping lawful good beholders. (The sun was a beholder, think about it). They eventually used a giant laser to stun the beast long enough for the turtle god to eat him. This still didn't kill him, but it did kill the city of beholders and most of the party.

I sometimes run strange campaigns. . .

What were we talking about?

if you could manage to disintergrate it, gather up all the dust and cast a force cage around it. Then stick it down a well of many worlds and cast a permanent dimensional anchor on that area and moved the well your all set.

The Vertical reach for it is 128'. so you would need at least a hole 60' wide and 200' deep. Then find some way of disguise the hole and get it to walk over the hole. That still leaves you trying to fill it with rocks before he decides to just climb out.

damage it is harder most spells have to get past SR32. Then its skin reflects alls lines, cones, rays, and magic missile. 30% of those go back to the caster. The ballistic would have to be set up or on a wagon and you would still have to find away to keep it in the whole all that time. Range weapons don't do enough damage to get past Regen and I don't think you will get many volunteers to jump down for mêlée.

But besides that it sound like a good plan.:)

Pit Digging 101
1)Get lots of casters to cast disentigrate, teleport, and anything else that can get rid of dirt and stones.
2)Coat the edge of the pit in mithral(it has an insane climb DC)
3)Drop lots of rocks and bury the Tarrasque
4)Cast transmute stone to mud
5)Wait for the mud to settle
6)Cast transmute mud to stone
7)Beg the DM for xp

So how did you get the thing in the hole? What happens if the Tarrasque decides to climb on top of the rocks that get dropped on him/her/it? And lets just hope it is not smart enough to start throwing some of those rocks back!?!?

So your saying the thing is going to sit at the bottom of the hole and let people drop big rocks on it. Who is going to be the bait to get him/her/it in the hole? (they have to beat the rush move )
