| Slad Chaos10-11-04, 10:31 AM | What did the spells use to change an animal in anthropomorphic animal ? Thanks to answer me. |
| ieattrollsforbreakfast10-11-04, 01:22 PM | I don't know of any spell that changes an animal to an anthropomorphic animal, but you can find the rules for the change in Savage Species in the form of a template. |
| Slad Chaos10-11-04, 01:48 PM | I know, but I search how did the animal become an anthropormorphic animal ? |
| Kyy'Dakh10-11-04, 01:52 PM | I think the template was supposed to imply that anthro animals were born that way, for the same reason gnolls are gnolls. Evolution, divine creation, whatever. |
| caeruleus10-11-04, 02:00 PM | Not all templates are things that "happen" to a creature. Some templates are just ways of generating a new type of creature, using an already existing one to produce something similar. But if you want a spell to do that, create one, and in your campaign that would be how anthropomorphic animals come to be. |
| Conaill10-11-04, 03:15 PM | Yeah, the "Anthropomorphic" template is an inherited one, not and acquired one. Which means it's just a mechanism to allow DM's to create new beasties from scratch, rather than something that is applied in-game as the effect of some spell. Anthropomorphic animals are born that way, they don't just start out as normal animals and acquire the anthropomorphic template. If you want an acquired effect, there's always the Awaken spell, which will raise an animal to sentient intelligence, but without any change in shape or useable hands. You may want to check out the Awakened Animals thread in my sig, in which I actually wrote out the effects of Awakening as a template. (It's not officially a template, but it might as well be because it really clarifies the rules mechanism.) |
| Manyfist11-06-04, 11:33 PM | Whats the template for anthromorphic animals? Is it Monstrous Humanoid? Also I got a new race that will need some help with to see if it's balanced or not. Neko Racial Traits: - +2 Cha, +2 Dex, -2 Wis, -2 Con. - Medium size - Infrared 120ft: Can see heat like normal vision. - Feline Nature: +2 racial bonus on Climb, Balance, Listen, Jump, and Move Silently - Base speed 30ft. - Languages: Common - LA: +0 |
| The Vorpal Tribble11-07-04, 12:54 AM | Feline Nature: +2 racial bonus on Climb, Balance, Listen, Jump, and Move Silently *grins* Feline Nature? Naw, those benefits should be more properly named 'Canine Nature' if the MM is any indication ;) |
