I am with a party of 5 in the worlds largest dungen.
We have a cleric lv5, druid lv5, dwarvin fighter lv 5, Psion lv 5, and a wizard/leric lv 3/2 going mystic thurge.

We know from a lanter arcon that some were in this dungen between us and the way out there is a tarrasque. Hopefully far away and we will be much higher level.

We are looking for good tacktics for fighting it and any build choices we should make now.

Any help would be apricieted

Any outright kill-spell and wish/miracle is probably the best outright way to win. That or fly over it.
Do you actually need to kill it or can you just escape it?

don't know if we need to kill it or just exscape but we do know its in our way.
an since this is a dungen that so far has been pretty much kill or be killed we whant to be prepared.

Well, given the Tarrasque is down as being for level twenties to fight, either you need to gain level 9 spells first, or be prepared to run/fly/teleport to get away...

I would suggest at the very least having Freedom of Movement so you won't get swallowed. As Khael said, instant kill spells work, if you can get through it's MASSIVE Fort. save and it's huge SR.

Due to it's massive reach, stock up on Concentration ranks for spellcasters/manifesters to help you cast/manifest defensively....possibly take Defensive Casting/Manifesting.

Find epic level weapons to get through it's massive damage reduction.

No matter what, have a teleport, dimension door, or expeditous retreat ready in case things go bad...which they probably will.

It rests in an unKnown location for 6d4 months then hunts for 1d3 days, call Adventurers Weekly and claim your finders fee or wait it out.

special quality of this dungen that we have found out from the archons os that you cannot telaport out of the dungen and that there is only one known way out we entered through a one way portal so getting help from the outside is probly not possible I gues we can hope its asleep and just slip past it but that is whishfull thinking I personly want to be prepared to fight it. What kill spells would you sugest.

Well, anything that doesn't involve a ray, or cone, or line. Any of these types are useless against it.

Some +5 longbows with some sort of extra damage bonus are the best bet.

Portable Hole + Bag of Holding might work...

If you can get control of a Sphere of Annihalation you should be set as well.

Possibly casting Armageddon would let you take the thing down long enough to get away while the summoned creatures tear at it.

A Mirror of Opposition could work or make the problem even worse.

What lv are you facing it? The only real kicker is to ensure you have access to wish/miracle.

The easiest way is to trap it in a forcecage(caged version) modified with the sudden widen(is there one?) metamagic feat, then gate in a solar(after boosting your caster lv), and have it pelt the tarrasque to death with slaying arrows(it dies on a 1. ;) ). Alternatively, it can't fly, so cast fly on the whole party, and either pelt it to death with spells, or simply fly past it onto the next challenge.

Do you actually have to kill it or do you just have to survive the encounter?

As he noted in the OP, which all of you seemed to have missed, he's in a level 5 party.

WEll, i think your DM is EVIL and wants the party dead. Dead and eaten by a CR20 while they are level FREEKING 5!!!! the situation your in is insane. If your DM is not out of his mind or completely stupid, the terrasque is probably asleep. If not, you are all dead, and its time to get out D6s.

Then fly is probably your best bet, just be sure to scribe enough for the entire party. :)

Unless you are an extremely balanced party of 6 at lvl 30, Option "A" when fighting the Tarrasque is ALWAYS run away. Option "B" is the solar idea (thats just cool), Option "C" is to get it to stare straight up at you somehow (you're flying), with its mouth open, and then Decanters of Endless Water down the things gullet for about 10 minutes, and Option "D" is once again, Run Away. Another option is to have an armor, and expendable one, covered in permanant symbols of death, with contingincy of "in the stomach fluid of a creature", and then chuck it in the Tarrasques gut, where it will activate itself and begin slowly subduing the Tarrasque, preferably while you run away.

We are a level 5 party now but this is this is the worlds largest dungen so I hope it will be a while before we face it. I have goten a few good I deas from you guys on build direction as well as what spells I should try and get.

since this is the worlds largest dungeon, i would say that the tarrasque is very far away and should be placed out of your mind until your team is lvl 18 on average, then start to use the plans mentioned

I have seen in these this post most the sugestions will work no mater how we chose to advance. But if some one knows one build that would realy help more then others please post it

straight wizard, sorcerer, cleric, or any other class that gets 9th level spells out of the wizard or cleric list. You need wish/miricle to kill that thing, or it will just regain HP in the next round.

Whew... I thought you were in a standard dungeon... had it been I'd have said you were screwed, since it isn't forget about the Tarrasque for now I'd say forget about it, at 100 floors for twenty levels you are looking at about 5 floors/level, you have seventy-four levels (of the dungeon) before you need to worry.

Lazy way: hire a Great Gold Wyrm to take it out. They could do so with ease.

Easy way: drop a Sphere of Annihilation on it.

Not sure how you could do it in World's Largest Dungeon.
