| primemover00310-18-06, 10:12 AM | I'm planning on using her when my PC's hit 9th or 10th level (they're currently 2nd). They will generally be built to hunt dragons (the theme of the campaign) and so I need to make her tough. I don't have the stats for her quite yet, but I believe she's a CR 13. I've got 7 PC's: Human Paladin Human Cleric/Monk of Ilmater (will only take 2 lvls of monk; strength and suffering domains) Elven Beguiler 1/2 elven rogue dwarven fighter dwarven ranger (ranged) gnome bard Any tips, tactics, or good stories about your battles with the Queen of Dragons??? |

Don't let her get a full attack. Other than that use general dragon tactics. Don't bunch up, have neutralize poison available (for tail attack). Oh wait you're the DM. Do the opposite of what I said. :) |
| Darth Sephiroth10-18-06, 01:22 PM | Set the battle to the aspects advantage. Dragons rarely fight fair. Make sure to use the FP checks and everything and use dim lighting or even in the dark with it pierced occasionally by the blasts of various breath weapons. |
| primemover00310-18-06, 04:33 PM | Even though it's months away the battle will most likely happen in a Fortified Prison Mine. I was thinking the PC's have to infiltrate the mine to free the captured Warden (a Baron of the realm) being held for ransom. The opposing forces will be Tiamat worshipping goblinoids; 1/2 dragon or draconic wolves/worgs/winter wolves (scaled as the PC's progress in power); barghests and abishai (summoned by clerics to augment their troops). So I'm thinking the PC's battle their way into the prison fighting lowly goblins, hobgoblins, and fiends before winning their way out to the Gates. Then the high priestess of the Dragon Queen will used a Greater Planar Ally scroll to call forth the Aspect to crush the PC's... Sure it sounds a lot like RHoD, but only in the Goblinoid/Tiamat links. I actually wanted to make Goblinoids more like Githyanki in culture and it crossed over nicely! |
