| Sleepwalker1366608-02-07, 09:26 PM | As ridiculous as that sounds, I am looking for the stats on shrimp or prawns, I don't remember them being in any book. I have just about all non forgotten realms stuff (if you know of a write up please let me know), but will accept a web write up as well. |
| Salla08-02-07, 10:41 PM | Other than the Tasty With Garlic Butter (Ex) ability, I can't think of any. |
| JoAT08-02-07, 11:02 PM | You're not going to find them in any books, but, due to the oddness of the request, I can probably slap some together in about 5 minutes. If you want accurate stats that don't basically amount to Fine Animal (Aquatic) with 1 HD (and 1 HP), it'd have to wait until after work tomorrow. But... Why? I really, really, really want to know why stats for shrimp would be needed. My imagination is boggling (the best I can think of is some kind of underwater version of Honey I Shrunk the Kids as an adventure). |
| The_Clumsy_Robot08-03-07, 09:03 AM | This thread makes me wish that there were dire invertebrates. |
| Radijs08-03-07, 12:06 PM | Well there can be. Dire Shrimp Gargantuan animal (aquatic) Just fill in the rest. |

| Raptorial08-03-07, 12:40 PM | This thread makes me wish that there were dire invertebrates. There are, giant and monstrous invertebrates. I made a giant crayfish one time, but I doubt that would mesh perfectly with a shrimp. |
| Rustmonster08-03-07, 12:57 PM | The stats of a shrimp are: Negligable. Seriously, they can't hurt you, die no matter how you hit them (even non-leathal), and are generally not of any worthy note. That's like trying to stat a normal ant. There is really no reason. They just don't have stats. |
| Asra08-03-07, 01:04 PM | Want to apply the titanic template to that sucker! I bet a Titanic shrimp would make for a great quest, especially if the players are hungry... for adventure! Or are you going to ye olde Jumbo Shrimp Joke? |
| Radijs08-03-07, 02:25 PM | Is that like one of dem guys that don't get enuff air? (http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20030408.html) |

I really, really, really want to know why stats for shrimp would be needed. My imagination is boggling (the best I can think of is some kind of underwater version of Honey I Shrunk the Kids as an adventure). I came up with a wicked spell idea, then realized there was no shrimp, it's called Breath of Brine, it fills the targets lungs with Styx Water and Fiendish Shrimp, while I know they don't do much damage it's a truly horrible effect. It's a spell I can picture Kuo Toa clerics or Saughin using. The stats of a shrimp are: Negligable. Seriously, they can't hurt you, die no matter how you hit them (even non-leathal), and are generally not of any worthy note. That's like trying to stat a normal ant. There is really no reason. They just don't have stats. Normally no, they do have a barb they can defend them selfs with, their mucus dries out skin and causes it to crack, not dangerous, but very painful, that in mind when you see the spell description above, thats why. I was considering reverse engineering lobsters taking away the claw attacks and replacing with the barb, but I figured I'd ask first. |
| JoAT08-03-07, 06:05 PM | For this idea, I wouldn't go with statted shrimp. I'd instead give the effects of the shrimp being inside the creature - some damage per round, and a sort of dehydrating effect (in addition to the fact that the person with this in his lungs is likely drowning and has lost his memories), rather than stats, as needing them might complicate matters (they might be subject to a swallow attack, for example). However, if, once the person with this in his lungs dies, the shrimp are released into the sea around him, or if being attacked with a slashing or piercing object would release them, I'd go with either a Fiendish Locust Swarm, minus the land and fly speed, plus a swim speed and the aquatic subtype, or, if these shrimp are really vicious, a Hellwasp Swarm, modified as above. |

I was planning on having the character undergo drowning unless they made a fort save to cough up enough water to breath, however still taking damage from the shrimp thrashing around, once the spell duration completed the character would make a final saving throw against disease since it was styx water. I didn't think about having it as a set damage, but looking at the suggestion I'll admit that would be easier, so I'll go ahead with that. thanks for your help. |
| Hellsbells08-04-07, 07:05 AM | I'm sorry but that is the most awesome spell ever. And as for shrimp if you were to stat them they would make the best ranbom template fouder, EVER! |
| Slagger the Chuul08-04-07, 01:46 PM | As ridiculous as that sounds, I am looking for the stats on shrimp or prawns, I don't remember them being in any book. I'm sure someone somewhere on the boards has statistics for Edward Elric, but if you want something large enough to be of any importance, there's also the brine swimmer in Sandstorm. |
