| Count Arioch the 28th12-07-04, 11:45 AM | I was planning on using one in an upcoming adventure, and I want to know if anyone else has used one, and could give me advice on whether it's a good challenge, what tactics to use, and so forth. I was planning on changing the feats. I was also going to let it take an epic feat for the feat it got at 21 HD. (the reason is that in my world, the Anathema is Mershaullk himself, who in my world is simply a demigod/hero deity/whatever of the Yuan Ti, they were created by Set, Mershaullk is simply the very first Yuan ti.) In short, I want this to be a fight my players won't forget for a very long time. |

As the first of his race, and the most powerful of his kind, character levels are almost a must, possibly as cleric, or blackguard. The kind of arrogance you describe would certainly lead him to consider these upstart mortals beneath him, and so they would have to 'prove' their worth by hacking up most if not all of his followers before he would deign to fight them. I think that after being softened up by his followers, the players will have a great deal of difficulty with him. Don't give them a breather, he just jumps in. If there are any survivors, I think they will rember the fight for a long time |
