Anything more to the Yuan-Ti? [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-27-05, 08:38 PM I'm interested in using Yuan-Ti, however, I don't know much about them.

I remember hearing about a book called "Serpent Kingdom" but I'm not entirely sure if it was core or not, and if it is even worth it. Does it deal much with the Yuan-Ti?

Anyways, if anyone has more information on them, or knows about any books that offer more on Yuan-Ti that the MM does, I'd be very glad to hear. Thanks :)

02-28-05, 05:50 AM Serpent Kingdoms is a Forgotten Realms regional sourcebook for various areas heavily influenced and controlled by the yuan-ti and other reptilian races. While it definitely concentrates on fleshing out these regions, it does contain a lot of history and lore for the yuan-ti which is easily adaptable to another campaign - or at the least could serve as an inspiration.

02-28-05, 10:39 AM The Fiend Folio has statistics for the Yuan-Ti Anathema, a very powerful Yuan-Ti. The flavor text could be inspiring.

The Miniatures Handbook has the Cave Dinosuars I believe. If I remember properly they were creations of the Yuan-Ti.

02-28-05, 11:14 AM Get Serpent Kingdoms. It has pretty much everything you need to know about yuan-ti. The tainted one (servents created from humans fed a potion made frome yuan-ti venom) template can be found in it as well. It also goes into lizardfolk, nagas, and other forms of scaly goodness.

There's a snake-themed prestige class in my sig. It's not directly related to the yuan-ti, but you might find it interesting.

02-28-05, 12:07 PM Serpent Kingdoms is good for background and racial information, detailing the rise and fall of the reptilian societies in the FR. It explains among other things yuan-ti philosophy, heritage, society, lifestyle, clans, and history.
The book is horrible when it comes to PrCs, spells and new feats, so if you are looking for things like that, dont buy it.

The XPH has a small entry on its last pages about psionic powers of yuan-ti, if you want them to be psionic in nature.

Aw, that's not totally true. Gape of the Serpent makes the book worth it. There's nothing quite like swallowing the blackguard that just promised you your death.
