CREATING A HALF-CELESTIAL
“Half-celestial” is an inherited template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or higher and nonevil alignment (referred to hereafter as the base creature).

Alright, so I can't apply this template to an animal (so angels don't mate with animals... makes sense), but I can apply this template to an awakened animal, right? How does this make sense?

I ask because the party found a cat and I'm either going to make it celestial or half-celestial awakened. What does everyone think?

If my understanding is correct, all it would take to have half celestial kitties is for a celestial cat to breed with a mundane cat. Nobody even has to be awakened. Okay the 4 int requirement would make that difficult...hmmmm

I suppose you could give the animal in question the elite stat array and assign the 12 to their int...:P

You can apply the 'Celestial' template to animals, or the 'Feindish' Template for that matter.

DMs can do whatever they want if they think that it will add to the game. I was thinking about adding a magical pig that could walk on the walls and ceilings (based on spider-pig). Is there such a creature in the monster manual? No. Will the players enjoy it? Yes.

I like yer thinkin'.

Yeah, I already made up the character sheet for the awakened, half-celestial cat. Also lvl 1 cleric.

But... I still don't know how it'd work. Like, I'm not talking celestial, I'm talking half-celestial, so it doesn't seem like this could happen to animals, but hey, there's one in my campaign now. :P

And thanks everyone for your replies.
