EldonG 03-28-06, 01:52 PM	In a game I play in, we've recently run across a creature with these qualities: AC in low 40's, touch in high 30's, ability to run anti-magic field (1x day, I think), some level of damage reduction, SR in mid 20's, undead, HP well over 100 (I'm guessing close to 200 - maybe more. We didn't drop it.), some level of regeneration, assorted other magical abilities (teleports - has twice, now), skills and feats as a monk of significant, but unknown level (damage is averaging just over 20 per attack, has 5 attacks, hits AC in the 30's, typically)... What rough range of CR would you guess this at? As a side note - we took out a CR 19 in 1 attack...this has resisted everything, so far.

Well, an undead with near 200 hp has either 30-odd HD or unholy toughness, SR won't be much of an issue here, fast healing, AC and attacks comparable to a high-level monk...sounds like CR 20 or thereabouts. Actually, it sounds like you are fighting an undead monk.

Actually, it sounds like you are fighting an undead monk. We are...it's a mummy monk...not your ordinary sort, either, as it has intelligence and an enormous Dex... Both times we've encountered it, we've also had to deal with 6-8 or more other things of CR 10+...we are a very large party of ECL 14, but we've been pretty stumped on the mummy...my Enchanter borders on useless. (literally everything has been undead!)
