Archons or Eladrins [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-28-04, 04:49 PM Based off of iburnthings question of Who do you like better demons or devils Im posting this question. Who do you like better eladrin or archon celestials. If you want you can also chose guardinal. Remember tell us why.

Ill start. I like eladrins better because of their fey like nature. Also in BOED Tulani eladrin wield awesome power, being able to cast chain lightning at will as a spell like ability. Plus their alternate forms are incorporeal.

01-28-04, 05:19 PM I love archons. They are probably my favourite monsters (aside from trolls of course) and heres why:
Archons are the embodiment of the lawful good alignment, which also happens to be my favourite alignment. Justice and righteousness go together so well, you just cant deny the perfect match.
Archons also happen to have the best paragons IMO. The Hebdomad have amazing power, and a leader for every job. Raziel happens to be everything I want paladins I play to be. That, and Zaphkiel is just awe inspiring, especially since no-one can ever see him! (unless he leaves the illuminated heaven of course)
For me, eladrins are at the bottom, right below guardinals. They just look all the same to me. If a ghale and a tulani were in the same room, all that really gives them away is their aura/eye colour. Archons and guardinals have great variety, which for me is always a good thing.

01-29-04, 06:00 AM I prefer the guardinals :D The idea of animal-like celestials of awesome power just finds favour in my eyes :D

01-29-04, 09:20 PM I think the archons are the coolest for the following reasons: They have the best name (arguable). They are the most powerful as a race (arguable... the aasimon have solars). They are also nice and haughtily arrogant. They simply know that they are the best beings in the multiverse, that everything they do is right and just, and that anyone who stops them, no matter how Lawful Good they may be, is getting in the way and serving the forces of evil. You just don't mess with that kind of zeal. But, when it comes down to it, the archons just do the most. Aasimon have devas, so they come next, but archons are probably the most militantly organized. They actually go out crusading, not like the guardinals, who, while really cool, hang around Elysium for most of the time, and Eladrins, who throw little celestial parties, from what it seems. I know there are exceptions. Ghaeles, solars, devas, the list goes on and on. Still, the archons are fully dedicated to combatting evil, and so I give them the award.

01-29-04, 09:28 PM Archons simply because they seem to fit best as messengers of good with power to back them. Hound Archons also look really nice. Of course the solar bests them all but that wasn't on the list or in normal play.
