I've heard of Tome and Sword archons. They were mentioned in the first edition Manual of the Planes as inhabitants of Celestia. Have they been statted out in 3rd edition? (or 3.5, same diff.) If so, where? If not, are there non official versions floating around the internet somewhere? Are there any other forms of Archons?

They're statted in the Book of Exalted Deeds, I think.

Tome Archon is not statted anywhere, but Sword Archon is indeed in the BoED. Other non-MM Archons are:

Hammer Archon (Races of Stone)
Justice Archon (MM4)
Owl Archon (BoED)
Throne Archon (BoED)
Warden Archon (BoED)
Word Archon (Tome of Magic)

Well, it says in the first edition MotP (Page 88) that tome archons have the heads of noble hawks or owls. Are owl archons a renamed tome archon?

Owl archons are just a bad idea. One race of anthropomorphic angels is enough. The fuzzy bear archons and owl archons need to be given the boot.

The 'tome' archon you might be thinking of is the 'throne' archon. The Celestial Hebdomad were also referred to as tome archons, so perhaps that is what you are remembering.
