Khazra 04-28-04, 01:48 PM	Is anyone else out there under the impression that some animals in the MM have been handled really badly? My main examples are the polar bear and babbon. A polar bear is a lot faster then the other bears & can infact run 35 mph. They are also far larger and should probaly be about strength 30! Another example which shows how badly strength seems to be done is the baboon. The average male baboon is 4 times stronger than the average male human. Surely animals have not been done with any real research.

They didn't write the stats to reflect reality, they wrote them to fit into the game system. It would be really embarrasing to have your uber-barbarian get his butt kicked by a baboon, I would think... As for the polar bear, remember the classic line: "I don't have to outrun the bear. I just have to outrun you."
