| Cli' San Aquanova01-09-04, 10:58 PM | Armodons are a type of elephant in Magic: the Gathering, but they're a bit different than elephants (they have about 4 more tusks, skin that looks as rough as rocks, for example). I'm thinking either make a new set of stats for them, modify the elephant stats for additional gore attacks and maybe giving it ferocity, or giving the elephant a template for the armodon. I'm not quite sure which to give them, though (dammit, I gotta get the MM II). Any suggestions? http://www.geocities.com/flammabledragon/merman.TXT |
| kappa_nova701-10-04, 12:15 AM | I'd use the dire elephant & add ferocity |
| Mithral Icesilver01-10-04, 12:04 PM | One problem: Armadon is also the name of a flealike, acid-spraying, caste of formians. Found in the Fiend Folio. Hey! I alliterated that last sentence! |
| Cli' San Aquanova01-10-04, 05:00 PM | Well, it isn't that much of a problem. Formians and Fomorians are spelt almost alike, and are a bit confusing. Anyway, you could just pronounce Armodon like it's spelt: Arr-moe-dawn. It isn't a conflict for me because my playgroup rarely (if ever) uses Formians. So, Armodon- dire elephant with ferocity... that may work well. Are there any other suggestions? http://www.geocities.com/flammabledragon/merman.TXT |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht01-10-04, 05:43 PM | Grizzly Mastodon. |
| Cli' San Aquanova01-12-04, 06:54 PM | I might as well make Armodon stats... I'll modify the elephant and make the Armodon a bit superior. Only problem is, what size do you think they are? Huge or Gargantuan? |
| psychodemigod01-12-04, 07:10 PM | im not much of a magic player but... i would personally look at the stats of the grizzly mastoon (wathe, i dont know how to spell it) an modify wherever fit |
| Cli' San Aquanova01-12-04, 09:26 PM | What book is the Grizzly Mastodon in? For all non-Magic players, here are some pictures of the Armodon. Crazed Armodon Endangered Armodon Trained Armodon Trumpeting Armodon |

| Cli' San Aquanova01-13-04, 11:53 AM | Dammit! I gotta get that book... hopefully I'll get it this week... Any feedback on the suggested Size of the Armodon? |
| kappa_nova701-13-04, 07:19 PM | I'm thinkink huge, or if you want an oliphant type armodon, gargantuan. |
| Cli' San Aquanova01-13-04, 09:58 PM | Well, I got the Monster Manual II today (finally), so I'll be looking over the Grizzly Mastodon, Dire Elephant and Elephant to make my Armodon stats. I figured they'd be on the bigger size of Huge, but the Endangered Armodon definetly looks Gargantuan, so that's why I suggested that size. Expect the Armodon stats to be up in a few days or less. http://www.geocities.com/flammabledragon/merman.TXT Oh yeah, one more thing: should I give the Armodons an extra gore attack for their horns? |
| EvilPettingZoo01-14-04, 12:50 AM | Maybe a more damaging attack, but I wouldn't give additional attacks. |

| moosekickedmysisterstoof01-18-04, 10:15 AM | I like this a lot! You should convert it to 3.5 though. And what's the CR by the way? Also, it should be able to advance to gargantuan size. :D |
| Cli' San Aquanova01-18-04, 10:24 PM | Really? "You like-ah the stats, eh? Stats-ah good, eh?" I don't have the Monster Manual 3.5 though, so I don't know how to convert it into 3.5. http://www.geocities.com/flammabledragon/mermansad.TXT I have Unapproachable East though, so that can give me an idea of how the stat block looks, but without the MM for the guidelines... I'll modify the advancement so they can attain Gargantuan. CR, I'm not perfect at calculating those... does 12 sound appropriate for the Armodon? |
