I want to create a threat where every member can post their monsters ideas. Two restrictions though, the monster must either: - have the half-dragon template or the draconic template. OR - have the dragonblood subtype or be very closely related to dragons. I believe these monsters are the most difficult to integrate in a game, but make remarquable encounters. I would like everybody to share their ideas. It can ANY monster from ANY book, although I'm not asking for full stat block; just a line or two on the origin which could serve as a campaign hook. Here goes. - A school of Half-Styx dragon / dire barracuda (from Stormwrack): Some menacing fishes inhabiting the River Styx. - A pack of white draconic riding dog: The sled's dray creatures for a half-white dragon hunter from the Frostfell. - A dragonborn (former human) paladin / Platinum Knight (from Draconomicon): A mighty soldier on his quest to vaquish the spawn of Tiamat, riding his spiked felldrake (from Draconomicon) into battle. See what I mean ? Now it's your turn. |

| Golem01102-04-06, 10:34 AM | - Half-White Dragon Dire Bears: In the mountains lurk the great Ice Wyrms, and their offspring are often not wholly draconic... - Half Green Dragon Gnoll Pack: The deadly hunters of the forests, these scaled mercenary gnolls serve any who pay them. - Half-Copper Dragon Centaur Tribe: A result of a mad wizard's experimenting, these centaurs appear as a different creature altogether, with dragon-like claws and horned heads. |

| Draconigeno02-09-06, 02:52 PM | Dragonfolk: Dragonfolk are the product of a wizard's breeding program for more intelligent, better controlled minions. Originating as crossbreeds between a tribe of draconic lizardfolk and a tribe of dragonmen, the dragonfolk's breeding has been carefully controlled to retain the dragonkin's intelligence while curbing their greed and desire for magic items. Dispite his own chaotic tendancies, the wizard was careful to breed a highly structured sense of order and honor into his creations to lessen the likelyhood of betrayal. In reality this hastened it as the dragonfolk did not long serve such a dishonorable leader. I do have a stat block done up for this but I'm not entirely sure it applies since I have yet to get the Races of the Dragon book and I am not sure if Dragonkin (and by extension the dragonfolk) qualify as having the Dragonblood subtype. |
