Ascension, what does it really mean? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-17-03, 12:29 PM At 12th level the Dragon Ascendant get immortality which makes him a Quasi-Deity. According to the Deity and Demigods this means he gets DvR 0.

But what does that actually mean? I don't have the DDG so I can't count them up, but if I remeber right a beeing with DvR (even 0) is immun to virtually any effect in the game.
Also, is his magic still blocked by an Antimagic Field? The spell says that deities are not affected and Quasi-Deity is still a deity.

Anything else the dragon gets which I have forgotten?

12-17-03, 03:38 PM Take a look at the 3.5 conversion booklet for DDG. The Einheriar, asgardian Giants and Valkyries all have the qasi-deity traits listed.

12-17-03, 03:52 PM I see. I thought a DvR would give you more than what is listed in the Draconomicon already (No immunity to death magic? Thats still missing! ;) )

But what about the antimagic field? Imo the spells from the dragon ascendant should ignore it.

12-17-03, 04:55 PM Anti-Magic has no effect on Diety Level Magic. Probably a DM call whether or not Divine Rank 0 qualifies as being able to go through anti-magic.

No, the rules are clear on this, check the descripton of anti magic field in the book.

Only beings with the status of a demigod or higher are unaffected, and demigod is dvr1+. A dvr0 deity is below demigod status and her magic doesn't go through anti magic fields.
