IronGolem 01-07-05, 09:28 AM	Hey folks, I'm sure I'm asking a question that has been asked 100x over, but I wanted to make sure. Is a Lich vulnerable to the Assassins death attack? A lich has the Immunity to Critcal Strikes, and I'm wondering if this applies the Assassin Death Attack?? Thanks! IronGolem
MythDragon 01-07-05, 12:23 PM	If it is Immune to Crit's then it is immune to Sneak and Death attacks. DMG states: "Assassin studies for 3 rounds and then makes a sneak attack...." PHB states: "A rogue can only sneak atk living creatures with discernible anatomy-undead,constructs,oozes, plants,and incorporeal lack the vital areas to attack. Any creature that is Immune to critical is immune to sneak attacks" so no the Death attack wont work on the Lich. That is all from 3.0 books, so if it is different from 3.5 I am sorry.
ClementWillowbreaker 01-07-05, 01:06 PM	That is the same for 3.5- the death attack has to deal sneak attack damage, or it doesn't threaten death. Liches, like all undead, are immune to it.
Ogre4Hire 01-07-05, 02:19 PM	After the Assassin attempts to Death Attack the Lich, the Lich will calmly turn around and inquire as to why the Assassin is trying to drive the dagger into an internal organ the Lich no longer possesses. Then unleash some serious undead smack-down.
