If you play D&D with someone who recently bragged to his two players that ever come about his exceedingly gruesome decor, read another thread. I want this to be a surprise.

If I have intestines decorating a room and they're actually assassin vines, can anyone give me an idea for an ability they'd have from being intestines instead of plants? Beyond the obvious nausea-inducing powers they'd have?

Intestinal gas blasts? This is really more Tribble's area of expertise (but then again, what isn't?).

I'd say loose the plant traits, get rid of camouflague (if I say an intestine decorating a room, I'd be pretty suspicious), give it more hit points, and change the environment.

A deilightfully greusome idea, but both of you should get back to the cafe, Khael is on a rampage.

He can be.. persuaded.. to stop.. :evillaugh

And as for assasin vines made out of intestines, I'd give them some sort of disease-on-touch type effect. The lower parts of the internal anatomy are not what some might call.. "sanitary", .. to say the least.

Khael is "persuaded" for now. And, on subject, disease on touch, or a gs blast that spreads it by range sounds like a good idea.

Intestines are rubbery and very slippery, and could have a bonus to escape artist (which they'd use to get free instead of a grapple check), and could possibly slick the floor with bile so that they can make a trip attempt during a grapple as a free action or something.

I think this would have to merit an entirely new creature, some Animate Entrail or somesuch.

To begin with they would be undead made by specialized necromantic magic. They wouldn't have an entangle type ability. Check my Rotten Siggah for some ideas to incorporate, and keep in mind that the human body has over 15ft of intestines.

Okay, thanks, everyone. I've got to start getting my act together for D&D soon, so any more input is redundant. But about the new creature thing... It's hard. It's pretty much an assassin vine, just animal instead of plant.

Oh, and the players probably won't be suspicious. They'll have just been travelling through a dungeon designed by somebody who likes disgusting decorations. They'll have to swim through a lake of blood, there'll be rooms with people hanging from the walls, disemboweled and skinless, stuff like that. One more room like that shouldn't be too surprising.

Quite true
