Long answer: LA measures how much tougher a race is than a PC class of the same HD. An Aasimar counts as 1 level higher than it actually is for purposes of how tough it is, XP division, treasure, etc. This is reflected by its stat bonuses, resistances, etc. An aasimar (or any other creature with an LA) doesn't actually get anything from the LA.

12-27-05, 02:59 PM Nothing more than the racial abilities and ability adjustments. Skill points, feats, HP, et cetera, all have to wait until the first class level. That's why Aasimar and other characters with LA's are a little weak to start out with. The abilities do come in handy, though, if you build the character right.

Also, if you're going to play one: it's spelled Aasimar. Though if you play a stuck-up-paladin type, you might as well spell it the other way. :P

nope, no prissis for me. ima level 32 (33 w/la) cleric of Heroneus (recently changed race cause DM let me :D ). Plus I got the Spell Compendium and now have acces to kick-ass spells that make my cleric worth playing. :w00t: :king: :angelhide

12-27-05, 04:41 PM May be out-of-topic, but Aasimars are so FUNNY in Neverwinter Nights. Their voice is so strange. "Your taste shall be cleansed!" is one of the things they say, and it makes not the slightest sense at all. And I don't want an aasimar to cleanse my TASTE! .......
