| windquake04-07-05, 04:17 PM | Has anyone used the Astral Stalker (Monster Manual 3) in their games? I have a few questions, and would like some input. The description says that the stalkes are outsiders, and I have the errata which says they are the "Extraplanar" subtype. My questions are these: 1) I am going to assume they are from the Astral Plane, it is in their name, but no where in their description, that I saw. So where are they from? 2) How do they travel back and forth? There is no movement power they have that would explain how they got here, or would go back. Thanks! -Windquake |

Environment: Astral Plane 2) How do they travel back and forth? There is no movement power they have that would explain how they got here, or would go back. They would have to be summoned, or otherwise find their way onto the Prime Material Plane, not unlike elementals and most demons and devils. |

| KillerOdin04-07-05, 05:19 PM | We are getting ready to use one in my current campaign, Its an Astral Stalker, 6 ranger. ludicrisly powerful, but should be fun cause it a Gestalt campaign and everything is crazy. As far as just using them as monsters, there great for the DM, hell for players, High INT means you can play them as smart as you can and they dont need sleep (outsiders) so they can always hit when players sleep. The High AC and saves will confound warriors and wizards alike, all in all a great little monster to have the BBEG to higher to take out the party. |

Honestly nothing, especially not them, should be truly native to the Astral. It's the backstage to the outer planes and really, conceptually, was never meant to be inhabited by any races except those that migrated there and adapted. The only exception to this might be the Astral Dreadnoughts and they're intentionally a mystery in many ways. And then there's the Guardian of the Dead Gods (He formerly known as Anubis) but he's an exception to the norm. |
