| Karn Dragonsbane12-20-05, 08:25 AM | Easy. If you are all-out defending and donīt have the expertise feat: You can take a -4 penalty to attack rolls, and gain a +2 bonus to AC. I think, was it on AD&D2 or here too? If you are defending and have the combat expertise feat: You can choose your penalty. At level 1, it might be actually better to parry normally instead of using the expertise feat. However, your penalty with expertise is limited to your BAB or 5, whichever is lower. If you have the superior combat expertise feat: The only limit is your BAB. |

You can fight defensively as either a standard action (140) or a full-round action (143) and take a -4 penalty to hit to add +2 to AC. If you have Combat Expertise or Improved Combat Experties you can use both the feat and fight defensively and they stack because both provide a dodge bonus and a dodge bonus always stacks. |
| tryco12-21-05, 03:29 AM | are there any bonusses on attacks. |
| kalstrand12-21-05, 09:13 PM | If you are using Combat Expertise or the Fighting Defensively action you are willingly taking a penalty to hit to increase your AC, so no you would not get any bonuses to attack. |
