Some creatures (those with an inherited template) are born with this subtype; others acquire it when they take on an acquired template. The augmented subtype is always paired with the creature’s original type. A creature with the augmented subtype usually has the traits of its current type, but the features of its original type. According to this: Human, template with Half-Dragon becomes a Dragon (Augmented Humanoid, Human), since there is no indication that existing subtypes are lost, either. So it seems that this creature is: Vulnerable to Human bane and Dragon bane weapons Considered a Dragon for all purposes (because it is) BUT! Is this creature still a Humanoid for purposes of Charm Person, for example? There is nothing indicating that the 'Augmented' type counts as that creature's Type (which is distinct from its subtype), yet there is also justification that the intent of the rules might have been that it does count. So what is it? Can a Wizard's familiar still be subject to Calm Animal even though its a Magical beast(Augmented Animal)? Confusion!
Lyinginbedmon 06-03-07, 12:00 PM	Generally, if the template doesn't say it, it doesn't happen. So, a Half-Dragon is not a Humanoid, though it retains the Human subtype. A familiar is not affected by Calm Animals, because it is now a Magical Beast
