There may still be some, for all i know."(from Starlight and Shadows; Windwalker page 148) What race is that and have any of you ever encountered that race in a book. If you have, Post it!:fight!: |
| Isran_Imrador02-07-05, 10:33 AM | Races of faerun p? |
| Anthus_Longblade02-07-05, 11:14 AM | Is it the Avoral, from the 3.5 core Monster Manual? |
| DM Zoc02-07-05, 05:39 PM | Is it the Avoral, from the 3.5 core Monster Manual? No, I think that's a type of celestial. An Avariel is just a plain old cross between an Elf and a Giant Eagle. In practice, they tend to be extremely well-known because it's one of the only ways to let the Alter Self spell give you flight. |
| Tee-drake02-08-05, 08:14 AM | Some of my friends talked about it in the class an the say that they are from races of faerun. I don't know but can any of you tell my how the template is? |

| Tee-drake02-08-05, 09:11 AM | Sorry race. I meant race. Any of you have the Traits then? |
| klode_me02-08-05, 09:21 AM | Sorry race. I meant race. Any of you have the Traits then? yeah i have. |
| Duskey02-08-05, 11:30 AM | jep det har jeg. English: yeah i have. Be careful, even though the three of us are danes, posting in non-english languages are strictly forbidden by the CoC (Code of Conduct) As to the original request you really should check out the book from Forgotten Realms - Races of Faerūn. An Avariel is basically just a winged elf from somewhere in Faerūn. There is an Avariel in the PC game Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn, though she has lost her wings so she can't fly. |
| Isran_Imrador02-08-05, 08:34 PM | Hei my danish friends! I would suggest that you use Google to find what you are looking for! |
| allenchan02-08-05, 09:05 PM | Avariels are pretty much crap. Deffinately not worth the LA. I would recommend simply applying the Winged Template from Savage Species of any other elf subrace instead. (snow elf would be my choice) |
| Barbelos03-02-05, 09:43 PM | Avariel first appeared in "The Complete Book of Elves" for AD&D 2nd Edition. They are basically just flying elves with bird's wings who live in "mountain roosts". If you want to find out more, get that book. Not sure if they are featured in 3E at all. I never thought they really fitted as an elf subrace though, and few people ever used them in games. |
| Tee-drake03-03-05, 01:57 AM | Yeah it was mentioned in races of Faerun. I was not really intended to play this character but i heard it in the book and want to know what it was. You see i'm only 14 so i haven't played the old 2nd edition and advanged. |
