| Malfean04-12-07, 08:37 PM | So you awaken a golem( spell from spell compendium), which them gains skills and feats depending on its hit dice and intelligence, right? So which skills count as class skills and which as cross class skills? |
| Prator_the_Legendary04-12-07, 08:39 PM | Well, if you've awakened it, presumably it gains a class too, right? What are the class skills for the class it gains? And if a class isn't apparent, then go with whatever class skills a Warrior gets. That's a good catch-all for monsters... |
| Grizzled Gryphon04-12-07, 08:43 PM | I would think that the Golem would have to take a level in something in order to gain some. Otherwise, I would allow it to pick 2+Int as "class" skills. As for the feats, I would have the Golem pick any general feats that it meets the requirements for. |
| runestar04-13-07, 01:00 AM | I don't think it can gain feats/skill points retroactively, can it...? |
| RavinRay04-13-07, 01:04 AM | Does the spell specifically state that awakened contructs become living constructs? If so, I think you can look to Eberron's warforged and other lc's as guidelines. |
| noctivagus04-13-07, 08:09 AM | It does indeed again feats and skill points, but it does not seem there are any hard rules as to what skills become class skills. Generally, when making a monster, it's a good rule of thumb to make whatever skills the monster has it's class skills; though it's really hard to say what kind of skills are appropriate for a golem. Concentration and intimidate both make some sense, but it's a tough call for anything else. |
