| JiCi04-11-06, 10:02 AM | An awakened tree has characteristics as if it were an animated object, except that it gains the plant type and its Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores are each 3d6. An awakened plant gains the ability to move its limbs, roots, vines, creepers, and so forth, and it has senses similar to a human’s.Huh... what's the new awakened plant creature's Con score ? 3d6, 4d6, 6d6, 8d6... ? I consider that this is not an animated object nor a construct, but a living creature of the Plant type. |
| (Psi)SeveredHead04-11-06, 12:02 PM | Con +2 for medium-sized, Con +4 (cumulative) per size category above medium. This is from the 3.0 "stat tables" for plants. Of course, this makes calculating their CR even harder - how do you take into account the extra hit points? Do they get to keep DR 5/-? |

| Talisman04-12-06, 10:56 AM | I'd go with base 11 for a random plant, increased with size as (Psi)SeveredHead suggests. Plants technically already have Con scores, since they're alive. For a PC plant, or reoccuring NPC, I'd roll the standard 4d6-drop-one for ability scores. Modify this as you see fit. Some plants are pretty fragile, while others are tough as nails. Is your druid awakening an orchid (Con 6) or ragweed (Con 25)? :P |
