| Foxhengeyokai09-15-06, 10:29 PM | Like the title suggests, I'm gonna be playing an awakened wolf in my game, and i would love to hear any suggestions about good ways to RP it. She's going to be a ranger and will be wielding two mantis blade type things, one on each side:D Equipment will be fun to get too, anyways, if you're all interested, I'll tell you how it goes. |
| Piggyfreak609-15-06, 10:47 PM | I would say, have a keen enjoyment of the night sky. When it's night time, don't talk to people, tell them to screw off because you need to watch to see if you get a constilation (old native american story) |
| Foxhengeyokai09-16-06, 10:55 AM | Good idea, i was planning on doing a kinda native american theme anyway.... |
| Piggyfreak609-16-06, 11:24 AM | Then defently be a druid if you looking for the Native American thing. I think it would be cool to be a wolf that changes into other animals, like the hawk or the lion (mountain lion) |
| Foxhengeyokai09-17-06, 01:51 PM | A druid eh? that sounds like a good idea, thank you! |
| Lord_Gareth09-17-06, 02:00 PM | I gotta ask...WTF is the deal with everyone playing awakened animals? |
| Foxhengeyokai09-17-06, 02:02 PM | I can't speak for others, but i love to do it becuase it gives me a chance to step "Outside" of the normal realm of roleplaying, also, it's a challenge! I do love good challenges. |
| BowenSilverclaw198609-17-06, 02:06 PM | What's up with the mantis blades you spoke of earlier? What are they and where can I find them? Thanx, Bowen Silverclaw. |
| Foxhengeyokai09-17-06, 02:13 PM | They're a homebrew kind of weapon. they have the same stats as a scimitar. only they're mounted on each shoulder. |
| dagman09-17-06, 08:19 PM | what kind of animal companion will you have |
| Foxhengeyokai09-17-06, 08:39 PM | Prolly a sexy male wolf! That is, if the DM doesn't mind a little off the wall romance/comedy..... |
| Piggyfreak609-17-06, 10:03 PM | Prolly a sexy male wolf! That is, if the DM doesn't mind a little off the wall romance/comedy..... creepy....:yuck: |
| pita09-18-06, 08:14 AM | I have to go dunk my head in acid, now. What's even worse would be having a male awakened animal and a female familiar. |
| pres_man09-18-06, 09:04 AM | awakened wolf = worg |
| Foxhengeyokai09-18-06, 09:05 AM | I give up, I try a little humor and I come of as a nut! But the female familiar would be kinda creepy....... By the way, any suggestions for native american sounding names? |
| Lord_Gareth09-18-06, 03:34 PM | Silver Fur. White Fang (because I like Jack London). Pad-feet. She who walks at Midnight. Some of my personal ideas. Well, except White fang. |
| Foxhengeyokai09-18-06, 04:46 PM | They all sound good, but i think that I may go with "Walks with coyote" or something that plays on native american mythos/ Thanks for the suggestions though! |
| kyros_the_spawnslayer09-19-06, 11:24 PM | I think there was an "awakened" wolf in a old cartoon movie called "Flight of Dragons" right? |
| runestar09-20-06, 12:31 AM | In the chinese langauge, pervert wolf is synonymous with sex maniac....:P |
| johnkretzer09-20-06, 01:10 AM | Cool idea I play pretty much the same thing in a different system ( a superheros game) Some suggestions: Think about the pack alot( hopefuly the group of PCs) Hunt alot Think pack tactics Also don't go for the whole lone wolf romantic concept, a true wolf wouldn't think that way Proably go with the druid it goes better with the idea. |
| Foxhengeyokai09-20-06, 09:08 AM | Pack mentality eh? Makes sense. Thank you |
| BelRex09-20-06, 09:46 AM | If you are going that route, look at the spirit shaman(complete divine) or the totemist(magic of incarnum). Both are good natury classes, and the spirit shaman gets a spirit companion, which would probably go along more with your native american theme. The wolf gets +2 to wisdom, so that would help. As for equipment, if you are good you could see about gaining the vow of poverty..or talk to your DM about arranging something similar, since just about all your equipment will be nonstandard. Edit: If you have access, look in Race of the Wild. There is a tactical feat, called Wolfpack. It lets you gain several advantages while you and other allies gang up on a single creature. It would go very well with your character and the previous ideas. It requires, a dex of 15(which you have as a base), dodge(and there is a better version of dodge in Races of the Wild, Expeditious Dodge), Mobility, and Spring Attack. All of those are useful to a wolf. Is your DM going to let you recalculate your animal HD as magical beast HD, they are much better than animal HD. And to let you calculate your skill points from your new intelligence? |
| Foxhengeyokai09-20-06, 09:49 AM | By the way, The wolf is now in Kredes cafe! Feel free to stop by at any time! a VOP wolven druid.... Nice! EDIT: I will get to calculate my HD as magical beast HD and redistribute skill points. EDIT PART II: In game, we just came across a group of goblins that had a worg with them, with a decent disguise check by our rogue and a little bit of feminine wiles, I managed to distract the worg until the gobbo's were all taken care of. The worg left after seeing that it's riders were dead!! |
