| Ghost010-24-07, 08:07 PM | In the entry for this feat it says, if the attack is successful, the opponent needs to make a reflext save = to the damage dealt...but it doesn't say that you deal damage normally first... Do you deal damage to the target, and THEN they have to make the reflex save to be knocked flying 10'? thanks for any help— |
| Dead_Weasel10-24-07, 09:11 PM | Absolutely. This ability is very similar to poison - if the attack does not deal damage, its piggyback effects are also wasted. Technically, so long as the attack succeeds, the creature still has to make a Reflex save - but it is fairly difficult to fail a DC 0 save accidentally. Note that there are some abilities that accompany an attack but do not rely on the attack dealing damage - for example, the energy damage from an enchanted weapon, or energy drain effects. These effects take place so long as the attack succeeds, regardless of whether or not the attack deals damage. |
