backlash damage. [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-05-04, 03:14 PM I'd like to take your run of the mill wierd.. apply the paragon template (which i've already done)... but add a backlash damage when the creature is destroyed.....

my questions are... how powerful is the damage, what's its range, and save DC. *edit* and cr adjustment

any thoughts?

I cannot locate a template that would 'grant' this ability.....

10-05-04, 03:25 PM There is a feat in Savage Species that grants death throes to creatures with elemental subtypes. I think thats what your looking for, so take a look. I'd post it here, but it isnt OGC.

I usually don't apply extra feats to monsters as a bonus..... but if such a feat exists... and added to the paragon wierd ... perhaps a +1 CR would be appropriate....?

10-05-04, 08:09 PM Just swap out one of its existing feats for the death throes feat (it's called "Final Strike"). And I doubt it would increase the CR by anything, since feats rarely, if ever, do that.

I found the final strike feat yesterday TYVM. I suppose as the DM I could feat swap... that would also seem appropriate....
