| dragonboy13131303-01-07, 01:56 PM | what is the highest cr monster? |
| dragonboy13131303-01-07, 01:56 PM | ever |
| TheOinodaemon03-01-07, 01:58 PM | Excepting dieties, I think its the Epic Dragons, they get into the CR 60 range. |
| gullas03-01-07, 01:59 PM | I think pun-pun :evillaugh beside that , the tarasque (I don't know how to spell it:thinks: ) |
| Talisman03-01-07, 02:02 PM | Straight out of the books? Hecatoncheires from the Epic Level Handbook (3.0). CR 57 and totally crazy. Of course, with maxed-out advancement and a couple dozen templates, you could get a monster with a triple-digit CR fairly easily. |
| dragonboy13131303-01-07, 02:29 PM | i made a char blessed by the god pelor and gave him 500 in every stat:D lvl 6 barb so i need a challenge |
| Airos03-02-07, 04:43 AM | i made a char blessed by the god pelor and gave him 500 in every stat:D lvl 6 barb so i need a challenge  This gets my "wtf?" for the day. I've got a challenge for you. 25 point buy. |
| Kearif03-02-07, 06:31 PM | Straight out of the books? Hecatoncheires from the Epic Level Handbook (3.0). CR 57 and totally crazy. From that same book there are several tougher monsters, the biggest being Prismatic Great Wyrm CR 66. I don't have the book right here right now so i might be wrong about the exact number but it is higher than 57. i would go for Prismatic Great Wyrm with every possible template for can apply, and go ahead and add all the half-__s, this is avery special case. |
| ArchMageQuandolf03-03-07, 12:56 AM | Um Challenge for that guy is ludicrous. First off anyone granting that kind of power needs to throw their books away anyhow cause they don't get the game. Fairness, and earned fairness at that is what its really about. Besides it'd be fair to say that a deity cannot grant stats points higher than any single stat they own anyhow. Just a rule of thumb the monty haul approach spoils the basics of the game. Consider that Pelor isn't that major of a deity in the retrospect of things to begin with, so he most certainly wouldn't make a mortal have more power than himself or any other deity. So go on keep the five hundred points per stat block if you want, but realize that character will NEVER have anything challenging to fight and you might as well say its over for that character anyway. Whats left to do once you've conquered the universe anyway? |
| ArchMageQuandolf03-03-07, 01:32 AM | A bonus of +225 for all of the stats is retarded. At say twentieth level with this constitution a barbarian would have a max hitpoints of 4740 hp! That is over double the hitpoints of the most hit points sported in the deities and Demigods book. Ok say even half of the presuming average rolls per level 4620 hitpoints still more than twice as much as any diety. Start a first level character with 25 gp and basic clothes in the middle of a town where they don't know a soul. There's the challenge. To go from nothing to an earned hero status. |
| FrostHammer03-03-07, 03:44 AM | I got a challenge for you. Find a group to play DnD with you. |
| dengarbountyhunter03-03-07, 11:38 AM | Just take any undead creature and add the Evolved Undead template from Libris Mortis. A mere +1 CR each time you apply it, BUT... you can apply it as many times as you want! You can have a CR 189923041 ghoul if you want to! |
| Angelflesh03-03-07, 02:49 PM | A 6th level Barbarian with 600 in every stat. |
| speeblefreak03-03-07, 06:58 PM | http://www.immortalshandbook.com Check it out. |
| ArchMageQuandolf03-03-07, 10:29 PM | Ok without divine intervention how would anyone ever get to 100 on every stat? I just dont see it is all. Why bother trying to fight anything at that point, you'd have the mentality like" man I fought asmodeus last week, why wont he just stay dead?" |
| ZolDarklock03-04-07, 12:33 AM | the highest non-epic creature might be Inferno, he's one of them advanced colossus dragons, he's a great wyrm red dragon over two thousand plus years old minimum, and supposedly knows more about fire based magic than other thing in existance... his lair entrance is a gate located on the north face of the highest peak of the High Forest on the world of Toril, the gate leads to his lair which is actual located on the far side of the planet his horde is said to contain over twelve million gold pieces alone, and his only known magical treasures is one of every type of crystal ball ever concieved, so his information gathering skills is unsurpassed presumably somebody recently did a poor official write up of him, and by poor I mean they gave him absolutely no epic spells or feats of anykind, and didn't even bother to give him a single class level as a fire specialist mage or anything else for that matter, but he was still like a CR 64 creature without his true fire mastery skills applied to his stats |
| cog_n_taz03-04-07, 12:42 AM | To be honest, I don't get it. First, you construct a character that is so revoltingly overpowered that the game cannot possibly incorporate it, nevermind challenge it, and then you ask for a challenge. If you want a challenge(and more fun, I think), join a group, make a reasonable character at the same power level as everyone else's, and get through a challenging campaign. Running such a campaign or creating optimization builds/interesting characters is challenging too, try it and have fun:). Also, such a character would have a mentality like the player of a level 70 in world of warcraft. |
